I was surprised to find that the Photos tab in Dropbox online (i.e. at Dropbox.com) contains bookoo pics from wayyyy back. I've always deleted pics from the iPhone after naming and saving the ones I want to keep on my PC (in Dropbox folders of my own (conscious) creation). In Dropbox it says, "Camera uploads is turned off." Don't believe I've ever intentionally told Dropbox to save all photos.10Views0likes1CommentIs there a way to see the number of files in a folder?
Good day fellow Drop Boxers :) I have a unique situation - I have let's call it a two sided folder collection - one side is used for Prospective Clients and the other Active clients, I have some subfolders that are called "Random Things" to be Filed, there are 6 of them, on the prospect side similar folders with Client names. I then injected a "Short cut" into said folders so once they are done and can be placed in the Active side of things they simply add to short cut and it comes into my sub-folders. What I am wondering very similar to text or emails - can a folder show how many files are within it at a glance or some kind of indicator? Does that make sense, just don't want to waste time over the day wondering if something is in any of these sub-folders to take action on. Thanks in advance for your input - Pat19Views0likes1CommentI can't move, copy or delete content from within the Dropbox folder on my Windows 11.
Device My awesome PC Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Win11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue We have old/historical jpeg/photos on drop box. I am having trouble moving, copying, pasting individual photos. When I try to move, copy, delete it seems to get stuck on the attached system process -> Windows says calculating, but doesn't seem to progress further. I also cannot see a preview of these files in the thumbnail/folder, they are just blank, though newer files in the same folder do have the preview image. I am trying to move bulk files though I cannot even move individual files ATM. Its only old files that we've not opened/viewed for years. Any ideas?21Views0likes2CommentsCan I archive files in my Dropbox account?
Hi I am trying to figure out how to archive Dropbox files and I am reading conflicting information. Some posts say you can archive files in dropbox and other posts say not. Anyone know the answer? I've read the Dropbox help and that isn't massively clear tbh 😞 ThanksSolved6.7KViews1like4CommentsI use a Windows device, and my Dropbox files take 7-10 seconds to open in my File Explorer.
recently i have had issues with dropbox (db) opening files extemely slow. i figured it was my computer so i bought/installed a new 1tb solid state drive, reformatted, re-installed everything.. and it still opened slow, like 7-10 seconds per file (yes, can drive a man nuts). i decided to do a little troubleshooting and copied a file to my desktop to see if it still opened slow and BOOM.. flew open. so it looks like its dropbox that is having the issue. my dropbox folder is located on my c:. we live in the woods and have satellite for internet (not sure if that matters). windows 10, and brand new dell precision work station. windows defender is disabled (read that was an issue also). the files i mostly use are "autocad" files (.dwg) thanks for the help!Solved15KViews1like27CommentsLinking Excel files in Dropbox without changing their path.
We just switched to Dropbox for Business. We have several Excel files with formulas that link to other Excel files all saved in a shared folder. With our local server the links would work for every user the same. Now with using Dropbox, the link will work for one user and not for another user. If the 2nd user changes the file path to make the link work for them, then it will no longer work for the first user. How do we make it so all users in the shared file can open the Excel file and have the links update without having to change the file path for each user?Solved14KViews2likes3CommentsHow can I stream a video to my website from Dropbox online?
Hi Guys, So I will try and explain best I can. This is my website https://www.progressivedreamsmusic.com/ and this is a page on my website where I stream videos https://www.progressivedreamsmusic.com/a-progressive-journey-50/ The video that plays on the above page is hosted on my desktop in my dropbox pubic folder. I use a widget within wordpress (on my site) called FV Flowplayer Video Player that allows me to embed videos like this. What I do is copy the link of the video I want to stream and I paste it in FV Player, I change the end of the link from '?dl=0' to '?raw=1', I am not exactly sure why but without this the video won't play. Anyway, without that out of the way you can see what I am doing, but because over time this will take up lots of space on my desktop I want to know how I can stream a video from my online dropbox account like this? I want to store these very large video files in dropox cloud, maybe a public folder on my online account? Basically I want to not eat up my computers hhd space and instead do this via online instead Can anyne help me ?Solved25KViews1like2CommentsAccidentally hid a file using the device's Properties and now I can't locate it.

I've imported 100 files and would like to highlight them all and rename them all Ashland Vacation 1, Ashland Vacation 2, Ashland Vacation 3, etc. Is there a way to automatically do this? I don't want to click and rename 100 individual files. Thanks.Solved25KViews2likes5Comments
