How can I embed an image itself into a forum and not the link?

If I use the change url to the raw=1 on my image it still only creates a link on a forum post. how do we make it show as an image right in the post instead of a link?

Using raw=1 is the correct method, but it also depends on the forum software. Dropbox shared link URLs have a redirect in them. If the forum software isn't able to follow the redirect, it wouldn't be able to display the image.
