How to verify if all my files are uploaded to Dropbox?
I have the 2T dropbox account.
I'm uploading my cellphone's pictures/videos in a total size of about 400GB.
How can I verify if all my files have done uploading? I'm selling the phone so I don'...

I'm uploading images from my phone - S22 Ultra. I have the Dropbox app installed on the S22 and my laptop - HP Envy 17, Windows 11. 'm checking progress on a chrome browser on my laptop.
Each time I go to the folder "Photos" in DB, the images sort out differently even though I have it set up as: All Items, by month, and the screen is constantly refreshing in completely random order, which is extremely annoying.
I'm uploading files automatically from the phone, but I'm unsure how I selected the files when I signed up for the plan 3 days ago. I tried uploading files today by trying to select a specific folder on my phone, but every time I tried to upload a file or a folder, the app would take me to my already uploaded DB files. If you have any training videos would be great, or do a screen share.
My phone shows a total image size of 381GB, and 30.76GB for videos. Total images/videos 51413 in the largest folder, and give or take 500 extra images/videos in other folders.
I was also able to get the size from the DB properties app on my laptop. It shows 372GB and 52,086 files.
It's puzzling that the size of the files in DB is lower than the phone, but there are more files in DB vs the phone. It's either compressing the images, or it doesn't match the phone due to some other reason.
Also I don't know if the number difference is due to the total inventory of files on my phone being spread across folders or there are files in DB that are separate and distinct from my phone image files. I haven't synced any other file types aside from the image ones but I do have more documents that I need to backup as well. I just don't know how to reconcile the differences at this point. It's clearly not matching.

10 months agoHey rdx111, hope you don’t mind me jump in.
To calculate the number of files within a folder, you shouldn’t have to select them one by one. If you open a folder on www.dropbox.com, there should be a “Name” header right above the list of your files (below the “Recents” and “Starred” options). If you hover over the “Name” header, you should be seeing a small checkbox on its left side; if you click on it, all contents of your folder will be selected and you can see the exact number on the right side of the screen.
Is the number still not matching the amount of files you had on your phone originally?
As for the training videos you mention, you can find a bunch of them on this page. If you’re still having any issues with uploading files from a specific folder on your phone after that, please send us a screenshot of what you see on your end, when selecting the folder on your phone, and we’ll take a look.

Thank you for the tip to get the files selected. This may work perfectly well with static files, however is terrible with images. The Camera Upload folder repeatedly refreshes and it doesn't show the correct number of files, after a few clicks in the box, the entire page becomes unresponsive. And this is the exact behavior each time I go through these steps.
If I open the Photos folder there's no Name title and there's no box to click in. The pictures display by years, month, or date, but there is no total size or number of files in the folder. There is a number per month, Again for people that have thousands of image files this is totally useless information on its own. It needs to display all pictures in the folder.
Another issue I've been running is locating an exact image. Say I want to scroll down and find a picture from last year, it is completely impossible. The folder constantly refreshes and there is a zero chance to get to a specific mage that you were trying to get to.
I was under the impression that this app will help me manage my image files, however it's been a total waste of time. The app is so out of date, and so buggy, that I can't figure out why you would design it for functionality that people can actually enjoy

I don't see any messages but the images look a lot better on the phone than on a computer monitor. However I tried to backup a folder from my computer to dropbox from the DB app installed on my computer and the app kept on crashing and freezing. Then I opened the DB website on a browser and tried uploading the folder from the site and once again the site was unresponsive and crashing. After several tries it finally started uploading it. However the uploaded images are still not showing the correct number of files when the box is checked next to the Name title. It only selects a tiny number of files in the folder. Why is that?

Hey rdx111 let me also jump in here!
Have you tried a different browser, by any chance? Just to check if you notice the same thing there.
Would you mind sending over a few screenshots of what you see the select the files using our website, and what you see when you check your Dropbox folder's properties?

Both Edge and Chrome crash. The apps installed on my computer and phone crash too.
In addition, it takes more than 10 minutes to get from the top to the bottom of the "Camera uploads" folder. I have 50k+ images and videos. Literally scrolling and scrolling over and over until you get there. And your site will do this each time I go from this folder to another folder and then back to the 1st folder. My images are sorted in list view so why is this the way your website behaves?
And NO Image or video plays in the dropbox app on my computer. Why is that?
I've wasted an enormous amount of time trying to work with this app and my tolerance is running thin. Instead of asking me to provide you with screenshots your company should be testing your software constantly to ensure speed and reliability. You charge money but your service is useless.
