Incredibly slow upload speeds to Dropbox, why?

On chat support with Dropbox repeatedly and they lie saying they have very fast pipe for uploads

i have a 25 mbps speed at home and Dropbox download is running at like less than 0.1 Mbps estimating 7 hours to upload one 2 gb video

Hi Carter2204, thanks for taking the time to message us.

Are you referring to uploading a file via the Dropbox site directly, or by adding a file into the Dropbox folder?

This will help me to assist further!

I'm having exactly the same issue. For at least a week. It's killing my workflow.

I've done all the cache deleting / reinstalled desktop app etc.

When using the browser to drag/drop files it seems to be quick like normal but desktop app sync is very slow. Please can we have a solution. One of my co-workers also has the same issue and as we're collaborating on content creation projects with large video files it's hurting our business.

    Please solve!!

Hi Superconfirm, have you checked the bandwidth settings in the Dropbox desktop application to see if the upload speed is restricted there?

Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

    Thanks for reply

mate I spoke to Dropbox, their attitude was dismissive and instantly lookijg elsewhere from their own backyard to resolve. It seemed a token effort

there are far too many people complaining about this

i have many apps on my phone so when I have my Dropbox and try to upload something to it it’s really easy to see how slow its loading

no I don’t have any restrictions on dropbox

you have a very small bandwidth that you are offering. You know this and your intentionally lying about it

when I asked multiple times what bandwidth does Dropbox offer support staff repeated ignored saying they didn’t have to share that private info.

thats dodgy as. I’ve got 25 mbps at home

i get a 0.15 mbps upload speed with dropbox

its almost something you could Sue you over. Its unconscionable for Dropbox to act this way

Dropbox Inc. again failed to dismiss a lawsuit over patented file sharing technology used in cloud-computing networks because Entangled Media LLC plausibly alleged it was put on notice of purported infringement.

Entangled’s allegations about the parties’ licensing conversations in 2017 sufficiently support that Dropbox had knowledge of both the existence of the asserted patents and the induced infringement before it was sued, according to an order issued Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The software company sued Dropbox in 2022, alleging various products incorporate technology, covered by US Patent Nos. 8,296,338 and 8,484,260., ...

now it would seem to me lots of complaints about upload speeds Dropbox around the time entangled sued them…. Just saying… so has Dropbox changed the software it’s using that underlies its entire processes of cloud sharing? Mmmmm
