Online vs local storage: how to be sure?

I would like to know how to be sure that my files are physically present on my local disk drive.

Hello,
I did it.
I still don't have any specific icon on most of the files.
Some of them sometimes appear with an ugly brown box icon, but I don't know why and when.
I still dont' know how to be sure that a specific file is physically on my local drive or not.
What am I supposed to see?

The brown box icons are probably OneDrive related, so can you disable OneDrive, to see if that helps with the Dropbox icons too?
