I'm not on a Team plan, just a business plan, and have my phone, laptop and desktop connected to this account on Dropbox. I just found that a lot of my folders from the root of my Dropbox folder showing up in my "Camera Uploads" folder as "Conflicted copy". The problem is I don't recognize the name it is associated with! Just in case I'll X out the name, but it shows as "DESKTOP-XXXXX's Conflicted copy 2026-02-21". How can I see what machines are connected to my Dropbox? Or can someone offer some guidance?28Views0likes1CommentCan only view partial folders & files on Windows 11 & Windows 10 computers.
I am using a Dell Alienware w/Windows 11, Alienware w/Windows 10, and an Android device. A couple of weeks ago I had an issue with Outlook 365 (on my Win 11 device) and had to reinstall it a couple of times. It ended up being a corruption issue that a computer place had to fix for me. During the reinstall process I was prompted to log back into Dropbox which I did. After that point only a small portion of my Dropbox files appear in my File Explorer while all of them continue to appear on Dropbox via Web. When my Win 11 was in the shop, I used my Win 10 computer and was prompted to log back into Dropbox too and the same thing happened. I then used my Android device to access Dropbox via the app and initially all files showed up, but sure enough I was prompted to log back into Dropbox from that device and afterwards could only see a partial inventory of what's there. I just checked my Android again and right now all files are showing up via the app, but still only partial files showing in File Explorer on Win 11 & Win 10 (yes, the Web version stills shows everything and I have logged off and back on via the Web which changes nothing). I have Gigabyte access on the internet (926.27 Mbps D/L & 935.23 Mbps U/L) and both Windows computers appear to be syncing while showing different files and folders. I use Dropbox as Online-Only for my files. Does anyone have an answer and thanks in advance?Solved32Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox desktop app is stuck at indexing after a MacOS Update to 26.4
Device MacBook Air M3 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) MacOS Tahoe 26.4 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 243.3.6895 Syncing Status Fully sync'd no folders visible indexing Question or Issue Updated OS today, could not open Word, Excel or PDF from Dropbox. Tried a few things and decided just to reinstall. Deleted Desktop app, reinstalled desktop app, selective sync for about 1/3 of my folders and selected offline use. Dropbox appeared in Locations of the finder (I took this to be a good sign), but nothing has changed for 12 hours. Restarted the machine a few times, quit and restarted the desktop app a few times. Searched for alternatives to Dropbox a few times. Only squirrely thing is that when I quit the app and restart, I get a "somethign went wrong: refresh" message. The files are clearly there. But they are not. Help please.Solved138Views0likes26CommentsFiles are zero bytes on Dropbox on File Provider
I'm on a Mac with OS Sequoia, running Dropbox Plus, version 242.4.5815. My Dropbox folder location is on my internal hard drive. I've set Default sync preference to online-only since our business had files too numerous to store on my 500 GB internal drive. I have reinstalled the Dropbox app this morning and restarted my computer to try to fix these issues, to no avail. In my Mac Finder, many files are showing as zero bytes. This creates problems with InDesign not seeing linked files. If I double click the zero-byte files and then close them, this activates them somehow, and then InDesign can see them and their true size shows in Finder. How can I make these files available automatically without having to open each one? There are way too many to open each one like this. Additionally, the Dropbox quick action menu is missing when I right click a Finder file. It used to be available. How do I restore this functionality? Why is my system not eligible for Dropbox on File Provider? Is this the source of the problem? Thanks for your help. Dropbox Plan Advanced Device Macbook pro, Apple M1 Max Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Sequoia 15.7.2 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 241.4.4853 Question or Issue I hope you can help. I'm trying to downlaod 3 large video files (105GB each) using the Dropbox Desktop App. When I check how much free space I have on my laptop hard drive I have 464 GB available. I've copied the 3 files I need to downlaod into a seperate dropbox folder and I'm syncing only to that folder. I double click on the first of the 3 files to sync and get the blue synching icon. The file gets to the last 20GB but then I get a message that I'm out of disk space. I've tried downloading the file from the web version too and the same thing happens - file gets to around 80% downloaded then stops. Screen shots are above - please can you assist.70Views0likes7CommentsSync arrows showing on my files in the Dropbox folder but the app is not syncing
Hi everyone, I’m seeing the sync arrows next to some files/folders in Explorer, but nothing seems to be actively syncing. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Resynced files Toggled files between online-only and local Rebooted my machine Paused and restarted Dropbox sync The only thing I haven’t tried yet is completely uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox. Has anyone else run into this? Any tips or workarounds before I go the uninstall route? Thanks in advance!61Views0likes6CommentsDropbox syncing doesn't work the way it used to on Windows 11.
Device Dell Laptop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Question or Issue I don't know what y'all did recently, but as far as I can tell, it has ruined dropbox. Selective sync no longer actually synchs files, just make stupid cloud icons. Each time I try to access a file, and I have more than 15 GB of data I am analyzing, it has to first download the file. This make a program which was accessing data files for analysis take decades to run (not possible) instead of a few minutes. Why did you break it. I just want my selectively sync files and folder to actually live on my computer without having to do battle with your very unwise choices in changing how dropbox works.59Views1like3CommentsFolders with green checkmark still empty while syncing
I have about 3TB of files only stored on dropbox. I got a new external drive and wanted to download everything locally for offline availability (the whole 3TB) by syncing. Now some Folders are showing a green checkmark as if they are fully syncing, but they are empty, not containing the files that should be there. On the web version of dropbox those folders still contain all the files. I just started the syncing process about an hour ago. Should i just wait for those files to appear? I dont want to have to go through the whole process again since its gonna take a long time.55Views0likes4CommentsMy Dropbox app (on macOS Tahoe 26.3) has been stuck indexing for a few days.
