Hello friends. I have a lotof old pictures (some dating back to 1950s) on my computer which are synced with Dropbox. They are close to 1TB. I took the past week modifying the dates in the pictures (created date, modified date, EXIF dates) on my desktop to reflect when the pictures were taken. I didnt really think about it but now I am afraid of running the dropbox application since I dont know which dates will be retained when dropbox syncs with the folders. Since the dates on the files in dropbox are more recent than the dates I put on the files now, I am concerned that dropbox will download those files and overwrite the ones on my desktop and I will lose the updated dates I put on the files. Does anyone know what date dropbox uses to sync files? Does it use date modified, date accessed or something else. Any help will be appreciated.32Views0likes3CommentsUnable to make all my files available offline onto new Mac
I've got a new iMac after the old one has just given up the ghost. All my files are fortunately backed up on Dropbox. My back-up drive was unfortunately corrupted. I've installed Dropbox on the new computer and all my files now appear but with "zero bytes". But there's a problem. I can download each file onto the hard drive one at a time by opening and closing it, but this is impossibly time consuming to do for every single file! I have gone to Dropbox Preferences, then clicked Sync and then checked Available Offline - but still all my "zero bytes" files remain on line and don't download until I click on them. I'm sure there's a simple solution. Please can someone advise me how to find it? Thanks.57Views0likes8CommentsiPhone disconnects and Camera Uploads won't sync my photos on the desktop app
I have an issue with the automatic upload of my photos from my phone. I used to plug my phone into my computer and it would automatically upload my pictures from my phone into my computer (connected by usb cable) but it hasn't been working for months and I can't find a solution.. The issue is that Dropbox sees that there is photos and videos to sync but it barely starts before it goes "The device was disconnected, 0 photos and videos have been uploaded". The app on my Win11 laptop says " Your files are up to date". Of course I haven't touched my phone, I even keep the screen unlocked. It would not even think there are new photos until I changed the Autoplay setting to "Ask me every time" where it will actually notice that there are new photos to upload. Any ideas? thx49Views0likes14CommentsStop syncing to a computer I no longer have access to.
Most of my Dropbox files are synced to my home computer. I've recently ended a personal relationship with which some of my Dropbox Folders were Selectively Synced to that person's computer. I can't seem to figure out from my Dropbox Account how and where to go to stop their computer from having access to those selectively synced folders from their computer since I no longer have access to uninstall the desktop App/account on their laptop. Any advice would be helpful.13Views0likes1CommentI can't paste the screenshots I capture on Windows
For some reason I cannot pate the screenshots after I press "Print Screen". I have dropbox on my pc set to copy link when image is ready and then there is a pop up on the bottom right when I take a picture and it says "press ctrl+v to copy" BUT IT DOESN'T work at all!223Views0likes39CommentsTeam folders are available in the admin console but not in my local Dropbox folder
Is there any way to see the TEAM folders in the Windows Dropbox app? I have several folders designated as TEAM FOLDERS and others designated as SHARED FOLDERS. The SHARED FOLDERS display in the Windows Dropbox App, but the TEAM FOLDERS do not. The TEAM FOLDERS are only accessible via the browser under CONTENT. As I am only able to access TEAM folders via a browser, I am unable to see anything other than Name, Type, and Members for the files in a TEAMS folder. The ... (three dot) option doesn't give me any option to see any create date, last saved date, file size, etc information. The lack of this information makes a TEAMS folder difficult to manage. Maybe I am missing something. I would appreciate any tips.26Views0likes3Comments"You need permission to perform this action" each time I'm creating a folder.
I have searched through the forum for a solution but have yet to find one. I am using the desktop and trying to create a folder and keep getting the error, "destination folder access denied" "you need permission to perform this action". I have unchecked "read only" in the properties and it re-checks "read only" as soon as I go back to try to create a folder. I am the owner, administrator etc of this computer and I pay for a drop box plan. I recently got a new computer and have had this issue ever since! I should not have to log into dropbox online every time I want to create a folder. I am running windows 11. I have ensured that I have the proper permissions checked. I do not know what else I can do at this point. Please help, as this is affecting my day to day business.1.7KViews0likes10CommentsThe context menu is missing in my Windows device.
Hi, I've been having problems with this for months and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times along with anything else I can find - checking the registry entries to make sure DropBox is in the first 15 etc and as far as I can tell everything is as it should be. Today I had another go so unistalled, restarted my PC and then reinstalled - once I completed setup I opened the Dropbox folder and the DropBox options were there in the right hand menu so I thought I'd finally sorted it... but when I closed that menu and right clicked again they were no longer there...? I wanted to get it sorted as if I can I'll upgrade my DropBox to a larger capacity / paid account but don't want to do it if I can't. When I was looking for alternatives I installed pcloud and that works fine in the right hand menu...?? First time I right-clicked after installing... after that the DropBox options disappear, if I click show more options it's not there either although the pcloud software I installed today comes up... And the registry...1.2KViews0likes17CommentsFile request option when right-clicking a file on macOS is no longer available
