Device HP Desktop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 10 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Syncing Status Up To Date Question or Issue I've not been able to find documents using search in my dropbox folder for a few weeks. I went to indexing options to remove dropbox from indexing and re-add it hoping it would rebuild the index. IT'S NOT THERE TO SELECT AT ALL!! I have my dropbox as a fold in Documents. When I go to C Users Myname Documents, dropbox is not there. I've right clicked the folder and in properties, went to advanced, UNCHECKED allow this folder to have contents indexed and applied that. Then I went back and checked it so they could be indexed and applied that. Dropbox is still not in the indexing options list of folders.135Views0likes17CommentsSyncing process has been hanging for 3 days
Since 3 days the synchronizing process keeps hanging at around 68gb. It keeps hovering back and forth as i see the data size + time, grow big and small between 1gb. I tried to close, reopen dropbox, reboot. I hope anyone has some tips for me to get out of this loop? On a side note, i've just received this laptop and freshly installed DB, I've been revealing the DB structure (3,8tb in total) in 'online-only' modus, except for some folders worth of 240gb in 'offline available'. Device Desktop PC Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Pro Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 237.4.5655 My desktop app has been stuck syncing for about a week. We ran out of space on our work Dropbox network (80TB used). I freed up around 20TB of space and all PC's on the network apart from mine successfully (after some time) synced the changes. Mine however was stuck at 5.5 million files syncing. I left it to do its thing for several days with no change. So I followed the "advanced reinstall" instructions on this page https://help.dropbox.com/installs/advanced-reinstall. The reinstall was successful and it seemed as though things were moving again. However for the last few days I've been stuck with between 12,000 and 16,000 files syncing. The number gradually goes up day to day. I'm working on Dropbox still, as are my colleagues so this may be why. I have to manually download my colleagues files and place them where they should be syncing before using them. When I hover my mouse over the DB icon in the system tray it says its downloading the 16k files, uploading around 40 files. But very little download up upload bandwidth is actually being used. I have a gigabit connection so I don't believe its actually doing much at all on the network. How can I fix this? We have around 60TB of files on our DB network and I have around 500GB of that synced at any given time. Thanks for any assistance!228Views1like20CommentsIt's difficult to download Dropbox folders onto your computer when the hard drive is full

Hi, I have the essentials plan but I do not have the feature to disable downloads. I have the "allow downloads on dropbox.com" toggled off(see picture) but that doesn't work because someone can still download it. Can someone point to me where is this "disable download" feature that I see online? Does it even exist within my current plan? Any help would be greatly appreciated.41Views0likes4CommentsHow can I migrate an entire Dropbox folder from one computer to another on Mac OS?
Device Macbook Pro 2025 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) macOS 13.7.8 and macOS 26.2 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Syncing Status Up to date Question or Issue I currently have about 450 GB of files sync'ed in my Dropbox folder on my Macbook Pro. I have purchased a new Macbook Pro and want to know what is the easiest way to migrate my Dropbox folder to the new laptop. I have seen instructions from 3 years ago that say that I can copy them to the new laptop (via external hard drive for example or perhaps macOS's Migration Assistant) and then let it reindex. I want to know if this is still the best method. I really want to avoid having to re-download AND re-index 450GB of data.41Views0likes2CommentsSelective Sync mess after migration to new Mac
Device MacBook Air Operating System/Browser (if using the web) MacOS 15.7 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) The dropbox app does not work on the new computer Syncing Status "Syncing 43 files" Question or Issue I am having the same issue that many other users seem to have after migrating to a new Mac. Many of my dropbox folders have Selective Sync conflicts. This includes my Downloads folder, which means I cannot see or access any new or existing downloads. Which, in turn, means I cannot download a new Dropbox app for MacOS 15.7. Previous threads on this topic seem to boil down to "you shoudn't have used Mac Migration Assistant, and now you have to sort through your whole dropbox manually." Is there any better advice? Any why in the world is there no warning about this? Surely it happens every day!34Views0likes2Comments
