Two computers with single Dropbox account and want to change folder location

Hi, I am looking to change the location of my Dropbox folder. Right now both computers have Dropbox installed and the files are in the default location. My question is, I want to change the location ...

    Hi there, the location can be different on different devices. It doesn’t need to be the same between computers.

This topic seems to be directly related to my issue. Desktop computer has Dropbox located on drive E:. Laptop has only drive C:. I want my laptop to use the extensive Categories I have created on Desktop. I copied the related .dat file to Laptop. However, all Desktop file locations are hard mapped to drive E:. Therefore, the links in the categories are useless. Can the files be mapped using a symbolic link or some other method? If so, please provide instructions.

    Hi glaw21, could you clarify what you mean by your laptop only having C:, but Dropbox being located on E:? Is this an external drive?

    Symlinks to other locations wouldn't work with Dropbox, and instead only the link itself would be copied.
