In the last 2 days Dropbox has increased to 23hr57mins of background usage on iOS 13.5.1. Before that it was around 7 hours background usage daily, which was still pretty huge. Meanwhile Google Drive which is also integrated into Files isn’t even showing up on battery usage on days I haven’t used it.

I'm now also seeing this issue on my iPad Pro running the latest released version of iPadOS. This started on the 2nd July when the App was updated to 196.2.
My overall background usage has gone from a few 10s of minutes to 5 or 6 hours and it's all Dropbox!

So far so good, it seems. This is pretty much what we want while we’re asleep, right?
So, even though it took incredibly long, a sincere “thank you” to whoever is responsible for the fix.

thanks

Huge issue, is a very bad experience to charge the battery for an emergency to 50% and 3 our later when
i open my ipad the battery has dropped to less than 10%.
The problem is dropbox app which is running and draining the battery although
i ve disabled background updates. This is a very bad experience, it has been occuring since the begining but as dropbox is my goto cloud app I couldnt erase but this last time has been too much dissapoiting
hope this can be solved, as mentioned in other posts g drive, m cloud and thers dont have this issues.
