Bug: icon moves back to the taskbar corner overflow after rebooting PC
Hello,
I am running Windows 11 enterprise and the Dropbox icon never stays in the taskbar corner after a reboot. When I restart my laptop it moves to the taskbar corner overflow.
On the "taskbar corner overflow" list (see settings -> personalization), there are two Dropbox icons. One shows version 147.3.4761 when you browse over, the second one does not show anything when you browse over.
I contacted the Dropbox support team who blame it on Windows, but I suspect the issue lies with the installation and having two Dropbox icons in the "taskbar corner overflow" list. I tried to reset the taskbar list but it didn't work.
In brief, I want to keep the icon in the main taskbar (not the overflow). Any ideas?
Below are the two icons (there should be only one).
Cheers, Géraud
I solved the issue by uninstalling Dropbox, cleaning the taskbar overflow, and re-installing.

Hi Géraud, and welcome back to the Community!
From what you mention, it looks like you’re running the beta app version on your desktop app, which may cause various issues in some cases, since it’s still experimental.
Can you please turn off early releases via the General tab of your account settings, and then install the latest stable version instead?
Let me know if the same issue persists after that.

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your advice, I turned off the early releases.
Can I install the latest stable version directly? Or do I need to uninstall the beta first?
Cheers, Géraud

Hi Géraud, you can install the stable version of the app over the beta without having to uninstall it first.
