App: Dropbox (latest version) 239.4.8301 Devide: MAC book PRO 14 inch, 2023 Operating system: Sonoma 14.7.5 I can't see both syncing icons and right-click menu options on my laptop. This happens after remove an old account and sign-in into a new profile (part of Dropbox Teams) I try everything that was suggested, like re-installing, restart, log-out etc.etc. Currently the only way to sync file on dekstop is to open them and this make me lose a tremendous amount of time (link packages of indesign with more than 500 files, just to make an example). Can you help me with that? Thanks62Views0likes10CommentsmacOS Sequoia 15.5 - Getting a message that "The application couldn't be found", after an update.
I've been a Dropbox user for many years. Within the last few months, whenever Dropbox automatically updates on my Mac currently running macOS 15.5 I've noted that in Finder I will see a message above files in my Dropbox folder of "The application "Dropbox" could not be found." and nothing will sync, even though Dropbox is running. Rebooting my Mac seems to resolve the issue as everything works properly after a reboot and the message is gone in Finder. This seems like a recent bug as Dropbox didn't do this for many years on my Macs. I'm not sure how to prevent the issue from happening the next time an update rolls out, or what to do to "fix" this as an end user other than a reboot. It's not the end of the world, but it's a regression and is a bit annoying.1.8KViews0likes60CommentsUnable to move the Dropbox folder to a USB drive. 'Error this folder is on removable media.'
I'm using Dropbox on a Windows 11 Dell laptop with v239.4.8.301, but I can't move the Dropbox folder to a new Sandisk 1Tb USB. The Sandisk is recognised on my PC as drive 'D:' I'm currently running out of disk space (1Tb on my hard drive), hence the need to switch to the Sandisk. I have tried changing the Dropbox to the new USB drive by: Clicking on Dropbox. Selecting my avatar. Selecting 'Preferences' then 'Sync'. Selecting the new drive. I get an error message: 'Error with selected folder. This folder is on removable media.' Does anyone know how to switch Dropbox to a USB drive?Solved40Views0likes6Comments"This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action."
Dropbox Desktop App installs fine on my Win 11 PC. Unfortunately, I'm unable to sign in to it. The error message reads: "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page" and the 'link' appears to point to something that includes dropbox-client://o-auth2/?code=........ I've tried several 'clean installs' as detailed on the Dropbox site, but without success. Dunno if I'm doing something wrong, or need to install/modify an app. Any advice much appreciated...;-)Solved61Views0likes8CommentsHow do I quit the Dropbox app?
Issue: What happened to the button that allowed us to quit Dropbox? The button was definitely there in Dec 2025, but now it's gone. I need it because I'm working with large files that can only reliably sync over my work/home wifi network. How to remove them?
I have several DropBox folders on my desktop computer - Dropbox, Dropbox (Old), Dropbox (Old (1)), Dropbox (Old (2)). I don't know how this happened. I tried deleting some but lost my desktop icons and had to resore them all back to square one! With all these duplicate folders I don't know where my files are being copied to. How can I rationalise my DropBox setup, please?75Views0likes7CommentsUbuntu Plucky - Policy will reject signature within a year

I have a ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS desktop. It has a SSD on which OS is installed and a HD for other non-OS things. By default Dropbox store local data in Home dir of ubuntu. I was running out of storage, so i moved it to my HD (using Move option in preferences). It worked well, but as soon as I restart my system, Dropbox always notify me of directory has change (which i did intentioanlly) and ask me exit or relink which ultimately set everything back to Home fodler.2.1KViews0likes17CommentsDropbox folder displayed twice in Windows File Explorer. How to remove 1 of them?
Application Affected Dropbox for Windows Device Microsoft Surface Pro9 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue The Dropbox folder is presented twice in File Explorer in Windows. Both instances are directly under Desktop in the folder tree. Both instances represent the same folder, i.e. D:\Dropbox\. Both show the same synced content when I click them. So they are really just two copies of the same, expected, Dropbox folder. Is there a way to get rid of one of them?Solved131Views0likes8Comments
