Dropbox app taking up too much space on my phone
My dropbox app is utilizing 25gb of phone storage data while all files are stored online. What is causing this? It seems that if I upload fotos and videos from my phone to dropbox it impacts the phone storage memory. How can this be resolved?
Hi Megan,
I'm using Dropbox on my iMac (Sonoma 14.4.1) and iPhone 13 (iOS 17.3.1).
The solution I found was to delete the Dropbox app from my iPhone and to reinstall it. This freed the 15GB that were somewhere on the iPhone when I uploaded some videos.
No, I have no files offline.
For some reason, the Dropbox app does not clear the memory after the upload is finished!
Thanks.
Georges

Hi Skasim, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try clearing the cache on your mobile app to see if this helps?
What OS are app version are you currently running?
This will help me to assist further!

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device (to clear any remaining parts of the app), and re-installing it to see if this helps?

Hi GB60, thanks for posting here!
Would you be able to share some additional info with me?
What is the OS you're using, and which version of our app do you use? Also, do you use the online-only feature when using our mobile app?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
