Dropbox needs to update the required Fedora repository.
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. This is just a heads up that Fedora Linux was updated earlier this week to 42 and so the Dropbox Fedora repository is now producing error messages ...
I just did a clean install of fedora workstation 42.
I downloaded Dropbox for fedora from dropbox.com/install-linux
The file opened software and i clicked install.
Now I get following error when opening Dropbox:
so far it seems like my files are syncing in the background but I can't open the app.
The GNOME extension "AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support" says incompatible.
Also Dropbox doesn't show up in Software under installed.

Thank you for your response. The thread you suggested also came up in my search for a solution but sadly didn't resolve my issue. I tried reinstalling the dropbox package without uninstalling as suggested.
For everything else I don't see how it applies to my situation specifically since I use the newest fedora and not ubuntu.

Is it possible you may be using a browser that doesn't have the GNOME Shell integration extension installed? It can be a bit confusing, but essentially, you first need to install a browser extension, which then allows the website to communicate with your system and install GNOME Shell extensions directly.
When you have the browser extension installed, you would be able to then toggle the extension to 'ON' and get the prompt to install the GNOME extension for app indicatorYesterday 3v1n0 released version 60 of AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support. After booting up my system today and executing "sudo dnf upgrade" and restarting everything works perfectly. So I was just a little bit too early to complain, sorry.

Still not resolved, still broken. Why does dropbox hate linux?
I also have fedora 42, latest updates. I installed the gnome extension but the icon just shows "..." and cannot be interacted with. If i load MS teams the tray shows an icon for that app so i believe the extension is working.
I thing i noticed is that teams shows up in the list of apps with "notifications"
