How could I get Dropbox Paper 2020?
How could I upgrade to Dropbox Paper 2020 from the older version?
Hello neosmile.
Thank you for your interest in Paper 2020 .
Currently, the Paper 2020 release is available to new users only. Our team is currently in the works of a new feature in order to build the best Paper experience for all our users. Old and new.
You will hear more about this feature and your Paper docs will live in the Dropbox filesystem, when the development is finalised. What I did -because I honestly couldn't wait- is this: I created a new Dropbox account and shared my old Paper docs to it.Notes:pushpin:- "Old" Paper docs shared with Paper 2020 release users will be available in their Dropbox home and will show in Recents.
- Paper 2020 release docs shared with Legacy users will be available on their Dropbox home, but not in Paper.

When will 2020 Paper features be rolled out to long-time users?
Just trying to get a structured answer (again).
Thanks,
Guy

YogY , Dropbox does not announce specific timelines for product improvements like this and previous communications indicate that they have no concrete plans to roll out the current version to legacy users.
- aggalix4 years agoHelpful | Level 6Actually in early 2020 they did say that existing users would be migrated as soon as they could, and that nobody would be left on the old paper. I wonder if anyone had been migrated. Or whether itâs just new users who get it.

aggalix , They said they intended to, but they've since gone silent and updates don't contain timelines, meaning they haven't actually planned to do so.
- bconglet4 years agoHelpful | Level 6The paper API depreciation date has been extended about 5 times so far, the latest update pushes it from Q2 2022 (obviously not met) to End of 2022. I would say that is some kind of news, but that date has been pushed back so many times that I wouldnât count on any date, even if by some miracle all of us dedicated early adopters actually got an official date from ANYONE at Dropbox.

They have provided timelines on this at least twiceâan initial date in 2020, and then a date in early 2021. Either would have been acceptable. Now they are completely silent, refusing to give an update or anything. It's like they don't either don't know how to do it, or they don't know how to tell us they aren't doing it.
