Solved

I can't download the desktop app's latest version 232.4.5926. It redirects me to my home page.

Forgive me if I'm being stupid here, but no matter which version of the above I try to download, the link just redirects me to my Dropbox home and not a download... I've tried on multiple devices, multiple browsers, and both logged in and logged out of my Dropbox account but the same happens... Do I need some kind of authorisation or access to download these files? All I want is an offline installer to install on a machine behind a proxy...

  • Hi Megan - thanks for your help.

So I've tried this on a MacOS device, a Windows device, and even my Android phone! Each time I click the link (including the new link in your most recent post) it just redirects to the dropbox.com homepage (which then redirects to dropbox.com/work on my corporate machine or to the Android app download page on my phone). HOWEVER I've just discovered that if I try to open the link using Incognito Mode in my browser, then it redirects me to the download page. Slightly baffling, but I've finally managed to get the file!

Thanks Michele - although I'm not sure what you mean by that? I don't believe it to be a network restriction because I have tried a number of networks (I've even tried a mobile network on my phone and was again just directed to the dropbox home page...)

Ah ok, I was meaning, say, a job site or something like that, but I am now beginning to think that this is not the case. Did you install a firewall on your machine?

Hey there, DeevUK let's see what we can find together about this!

I know you mentioned that you've tried multiple devices, but could you clarify the OS your main device's OS is using?

Can you try this link if you're using a desktop device and let me know if you notice any difference?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there.
