New message notifications will not go away
I have several “unread” messages from Dropbox which when opened or marked as read the “2” displayed above the icon will not go away. The marked as read button does nothing and there appears to be no way to delete the messages ? Using app on new iPad Pro.
- I ended up removing App from iPhone and reloaded it. Bit of a faff but worked

Same issue here on the iPadMini 5. The advice from Dropbox to delete and reinstall is NOT helpful. This is clearly a bug that needs to get fixed.

This issue has been bothering me for a while now and several updates of the App did not solve the problem.
Reinstalling or just logging off, seems not to be an option, as I am warned, that I'll loose all my private offline data.
Also I am afraid, I'll loose all the sync settings.
Please fix the software bug
- Soterios3 years agoExplorer | Level 4I had the same issue on my iPhone. Clearing the cache did not work, but logging off and back did work for me. But that in turn reset my camera upload settings and now it seems to be starting that process over. Sigh.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app a second time and this time the notification went away 🤔
- Phcalc3 years agoHelpful | Level 6I logged out then logged back in. The errant alerts disappeared. I did not uninstall Dropbox. While the latter may work the easier former may work for you.

Hi all, thanks for flagging this with us.
For anyone who's still affected, could you completely uninstall the Dropbox app from your device and re-install it anew?
Let us know of any updates!
- Monty33 years agoHelpful | Level 5Same as on my iPhone but they went when I reloaded . Yes sounds like a software issue

I have the same issue on iPad. It says I have 2 notifications. There are actually 5 unread messages. I can try marking them as read and it does nothing. I can open each and every one and it does nothing. I can reboot and it does nothing. I can remove the app and reinstall it and it does nothing. This is clearly a software issue and Dropbox need to rectify it as soon as possible.
