Red box on the Dropbox tray icon
Hello everyone! Why is the red box on my dropbox Windows taskbar icon? I've read in another thread that it's not a big deal and it's about some notification problem. But I have all notifications on. When I delete a file from one of dropbox folders the icon doesn't show syncing (which it does properly), just stays with red box. When I restart the program, the icon shows syncing, but then shows the same red box. It really freaks me out TBO.

This thing just runs in a cycle! I get a notice that it's available, so I start - it seems like it does a partial reinstall - asks me the re-log in - re-verify folders I am syncing - it says it is moving Dropbox to a new secure location (which seems to be CloudStorage under Library - but it's already there!) - adds Dropbox to the left pane of Finder - and it's already there. It seems to want to add the Finder extensions, but they don't show up - even though Dropbox has Full Disk Access permissions under Files and Folders (Settings/Privacy & Security). When it's done, it still shows this exact same status with a badge on my menu bar: Some days I have done this 3 or 4 times - same cycle. I end up just clicking "Not Now" to get rid of this. Is this broken? Something wrong on my end? It's very annoying! I am on Dropbox Essentials - MacBook Pro M3 Max - Sonoma 14.3.1 - Dropbox v 193.4.5594
What is the red-circled number "1" on my menu's Dropbox logo supposed to mean?
I'm not sure what category this question belongs in, but I'm flummoxed by this little red number "1" that appears on the Dropbox icon in my menu bar. Normally that means "1 message waiting", but I can't figure out where to look for such a message. What does it mean? And if it's "message waiting", where?
