Re: The ignore folder command isn't working; the folder is not being ignored.

Hi mroche74, welcome to our Community!

Let's jump right into this.

As a first thing, is your PowerShell and Dropbox app up to date? You should be able to hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your menu bar, next to your WiFi to check our app's version.

As for PowerShell, this page might help. If not, let me know.

Keep me posted!

I'm on a brand-new windows laptop, out of the box yesterday.  All windows updates have been successfully installed.  Dropbox version is 221.4.5365.  Powershell version 5.1.26100.3624.

Just installed Powershell 7.  Still no luck.

Hey mroche74! Can you send me a screenshot of your command, as it’s typed in your Windows PowerShell, and of your folder as it shows on your computer after that?

Thanks for that! From what I can see in your second screenshot, there are no sync icons in general next to your files/folders in File Explorer.

Can you clarify the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?

Also, if the folder in question is still showing on your Dropbox account online, please send me one more screenshot of it and I’ll investigate this further.

Did you find a solution? I am going NUTS with multiple node_modules folders being synced (not to mention .git folders) and you seem to be having the same issue as I am. I've tried the command from powershell, it doesn't appear to have any effect.

Sorry to see that you're having this issue, friendlyduckswaddlingalong.

Can you also confirm the sync status and version of the Dropbox app and your PowerShell version?

You can see the first by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.
