How to protect a shared file?

If I want to share a folder with someone, is there any way to password protect it without getting the premium service? Does DocSend protect a folder or is that a premium service? Thanks, Charli...

    I have to be honest and say 'no idea'! I know that email is not considered secure at all, as to how often compromises occur etc. I'm afraid I'd have to pass.
