Searchability of media content: Efficient evaluation of videos, photos and audio files
It would be desirable to make the content of videos, photos and audio files searchable. We have customers in the music industry with extensive video archives (for example, concert recordings from the last 20 years). The ability to search all videos for specific scenes or content, for example for a compilation of a band's 20th anniversary, would make work much easier. This function could easily be transferred to other industries, such as advertising agencies looking for content in their archive for a showreel, or video productions sifting through the raw material for video editing.
Example search term: man eating ice cream
Result: Dropbox searches certain videos for all scenes in which a man is eating ice cream.

Very interesting idea. This would be a great way to make use of the troves of unused footage from shoots that just sit on a drive taking up gb's until the gdpr policy decides times up!
Would suggest licensing levels or usage tiers, though. Maybe a scenario where someone takes these and uses for commercial purposes. also an AI to add some basic alt tags to aid others in search and navigation could enhance this feature. - Megan5 months ago
