I really like the photos tab functionality that allows you to select which type of items and show grouped by year /month / day and resize the images with the - + (this layout below) and being able to move to a specific year by clicking on the menu on the right of the screen but I would really like to be able to filter the photos to show a selection of them using the tags I have allocated to the individual files on this photos tab. The only way that I have found to filter the images is to use the search bar to look for a tag - it does show the correct photos but on the "All Files" tab and I lose the functionality to use the years/months/days viewing and the sizing - + and in particular I can't then select a year because the menu on the right disappears. This would be useful if searching a tag that would return a large number of photos ie. #holiday25Views0likes1CommentAllow us to hide certain folders from the Photos tab.
------------------------ It would be very helpful to have the option to select which directories to include or exclude in the "Photos" section. We often store images or screenshots in specific folders, and these end up mixed in with our main photos, creating visual clutter. Being able to limit the display to only the directories that actually contain photos would help maintain a more organized and focused experience. Hello Dropbox team 👋 I would really really love to be able to see tags appear besides the name of the files in any view, or folder, and on the mobile app, web version, and desktop app. Just a nice coloured tag left to the star icon would be wonderful. Yes, I know at Dropbox you are not a big fan of small, seemingly unnecessary cutomizations that don't serve an immediate and measurable purpose, but making customers happy is very important (here by improving UI and UX significantly and seemlessly for a small amount of time and effort). I'm sure the intern could figure it out in three days. Also if you are hyper motivated you can add a filter for tags to sort files (but NOT necessary, making them visible and coloured is already a great improvement). Here is what I imagine when I say tags: For colours you can do just like in Notion, where you can choose from pre-determined colours:93Views3likes3CommentsTeam Admin Content view: display folder paths with links to each parent folder
A Team plan Admin can navigate to the Admin console Content view of folders from the regular folder view using the contextual menu "View in admin console". Once in the admin console Content view: There's no link to the containing folder. It would be preferable to have the path to the folder displayed with links to each parent folder: /TeamFolder/Subfolder/Subsubfolder/CurrentFolder The buttons on the right sidebar which include Upload, New folder, and Show deleted files should include the ability to modify the folder settings and sharing, just as can be done to the folder when looking at it from the parent folder's view. Understandable "Move" and "Delete" might not be available here, but "Manage access", "Download", and "Change sync default" could be made available.73Views0likes4CommentsCan we have an option for bulk tagging?
Hello product team! I just started using dropbox again today after many years, thinking it would have gotten some much needed upgrades. I was hoping it would be a solid place to store my family's thousands of photos. I was absolutely shocked that it is still not possible to select a number of files to add a tag to them, instead of one at a time. It is such a basic feature. Will this ever be a possibility? There isn't even a "tags"-tag to add to this post. "Organizing" is a very broad subject, and tags really should be treated as its own subject, since it is if not THE, then definitely one of the most foundational aspects of organizing documents. Titles of documents can only get you so far.70Views1like2CommentsOption for team admin to undo or reject bulk file move request
If a team member (accidentally without knowing) move a large folder (say more than 1GB - or size determined by Admin Manager) send an alert to the Admin Manager to OK or STOP the move before it can take affect. Or when Dropbox sends the bulk data move alert, provide an UNDO option to the Admin Manager as the current alert does not provide detailed info as to what was moved where. Or create a clear emergency alert to warn the member that they are about to action a mass data move, is that what they intend to do - before it takes action. Back story: Our business has an SLA with multiple big companies whereby we are obliged to save their data for at least 5 years. Knowing where to locate a historic file is therefor most important to us. I recently received an alert that 37.5 GB data was moved, and I was only able to trace and restore 12.96 GB. Even with the Dropbox technical assistance, we were unable to locate the move. We have been in business since 2016 and have a team of 30 members who create multiple folders daily. It is virtually impossible to locate a big folder that was accidently dragged and dropped into another folder. The team member who was responsible for the mass data move did not even realize that they had done it.45Views0likes2CommentsTab of external users and folders they have access to in Admin Console
Running into the Issue of how do we manage multiple external users. managing external collaborators is a manual nightmare, requiring us to check each shared folder individually or parse unwieldy CSVs from External Sharing reports its driving us crazy81Views0likes4CommentsAllow us to search .mp3 files by a certain bitrate.
Search a folder and have the results show mp3 files by a certain bitrate. In Windows Explorer you can do this by entering into the search field things like bitrate: 24kbps or kind:music bitrate:>127kbps or bitrate:>127kbps When I type any of those search strings into a Dropbox search, it says no results found.63Views0likes2CommentsChange name of Camera Uploads folder without cancelling automatic uploads
Hello. Ian referred me to write my request here. Can you please make it so that people are able to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder that files are automatically uploaded into without it cancelling the automatic uploads? This will make it far easier for both business and non business entities to organize everything, especially when sharing the folder with others. As of right now, if someone were to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder to something else, let's say to "Andrew's Content," the automatic uploads will completely cancel future automatic uploads into that folder and create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads." If a business has multiple people sharing their "Camera Uploads" folder to them, that business has no way to distinguish between which "Camera Uploads" folder belongs to whom, nor is the business able to change the name of the folder for themselves on their end. This is a major problem. Can you please look into this and make it so people can name/rename the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder without it canceling automatic uploads? I believe Dropbox will greatly increase popularity with just this tiny update. I personally know thousands of both business owners and clients who would absolutely love the opportunity that an update like that would provide. Thank you so much for your time and consideration! Thank you, Andrew61Views0likes1Comment
