Print Screen doesn't save screenshots to dropbox anymore

Print Screen doesn't save screenshots to dropbox anymore

I've used prtsc to capture my screenshots for like years now but for some reason dropbox doesn't recognize it anymore. The settings in dropbox are correct and its not a hardware problem b/c I can still press prtsc and then ctrl+v into paint.

Yes, this worked for me.

In Dropbox, disable "Save screenshots to Dropbox".

In OneDrive, disable "Save screenshots to OneDrive".

In Dropbox, enable "Save screenshots to Dropbox".

Microsoft is apparently still unfriendly towards its users, and from the looks of it - how difficult it is to uninstall Microsoft Edge, Cortana and OneDrive aggressively taking over Dropbox without telling users how to re-enable Dropbox - it has got WORSE.

  • Press Print Screen to save the screenshot to your Dropbox.
  • Press Ctrl + Print Screen to save the screenshot to your Dropbox and copy a link to the screenshot that you can immediately paste anywhere, such as an email message or a Facebook post. Anyone who clicks on the link will see your screenshot on a preview page on the Dropbox website.

The first time you do this, the application will ask if you want to save screenshots to your Dropbox. Click Save Screenshots to Dropbox.

Dropbox Business users: If you've connected your personal and work Dropboxes, you can also choose which Dropbox you want to save screenshots to. You can later change this setting on the Account tab in the desktop application preferences.

You can always turn this feature on or off in the application's preferences:

    1. Click the Dropbox icon in your menu bar.
    2. Click the gear icon and select Preferences… from the menu.
    3. Click the Import tab.
    4. Check or uncheck Share screenshots using Dropbox.

earlier whenever i used to press the "print screen" ikon, my screenshots used to automatically get saved in my screenshots folder in my dropbox. After having reinstalled windows, the same is not happening.

i have installed the dropbox app on my laptop.

when i go into the app preferences --- backup, i do not see any checkbox to select to save screenshots to dropbox, as mentioned in the help literature.

is something amiss at my end.

please help.

thanks....

Hey @squandrer, I'd be happy to help on my end!

If I were you, I'd try uninstalling then re-installing the app.

Can you give this a go, and let me know how it turns out?
