Hey there, We've been using dropbox and someone created the account that's been shared to me and a few others. We'd like to remove the person that started this thing so is there a way to remove the owner or copy the existing files to create a shared folder that they don't have access to?

There's no way for you, as a member, to remove the owner from a shared folder. Only the owner can remove themselves from the folder. Instead, you'll need to create a new folder, share it with the people that need access, then copy the files from the old folder to the new folder.

Hi @Phantomfoolery

How do you mean remove that person? Are you all using 1 account and a single log on or is it in specific folders shared between people?

We all have our own logins but it says that one of the people that has access is the "owner" How can we keep the information that's shared but have the owner not have access to it anymore? They're no longer affiliated with our business and we just don't want them to have access to our records any more. Sorry if I'm asking for the wrong thing.
