Will dropbox ever be able to support tags on files? Would be great to categorize our design work by feature and format without creating lots of folders.
@C-A @I've tryied to move twice. In my case to MS Drive. I've always come back. There is a simplicity and reliability to Dropbox that ultimately brings me back.
And I'm really loving Paper. So I don't want to loose this.
My latest approach. Looking at my network in LinkedIn and trying to find someone that will speak to me about this. Not sure this will work, but I'm giving it a try.
I also want to join the choire of people who are really keen on Dropbox supporting tags. For me, it is very important as I sort my photos based on tags. Looking forward getting an update on this from Dropbox.
@Walter I'm sorry to pull you into this conversation. If you follow the thread a few pages back, we are mostly wanting to have clarity of the addition of tags is still a possibility, and if so, in which horizon. For some of us it's a very worthy feature, that has quite a few vots, and more importantly that has been requested for a long, long time. So most of all, clarity of expectations is what I would really appreciate. Can you helps us shed some light into this request?
Thanks SO much in advance. Martin.
It would be SO good if you could apply multiple tags to photos so teams could filter by these tags to find the images they wanted faster.
As a music producer, dropbox has been an effective tool to organize and share my music with my clients. It would be ideal if i could assign multiple tags to audio files and search them when its time to locate certain files.
Can we PLEASE have this? I have several books saved in multiple folders, recipe books, uni books, fiction etc. I would really love to be able to filter out my files and see all books I have saved in Dropbox at once without having to have them all saved in the same folder. Same for any other type of file really. Filter by assignments, scripts, logos... Just general categories within one view. Having tags would make it super simple to find things and still keep files organised per project, topic, etc.
Hi sf-pear, Dropbox executives are simple cash-cow lovers. They just want money nothing else matters. The new human beings. God save us from them.
I choose to believe that eventually Dropbox will listen. I just prefer to have a positive outlook on this matter at least.
This being said, even if they decide not to implement this functionality, what I have a hard time dealing with is the lack of response from the company (via it's Community representatives). For anyone choosing a technology to anble a business path forward, it's fair to get some sense of clarity of where the company is going. No reponse is frustrating and poor customer care in my perspective.
I have rached-out through other means to different people in the company. I have not been successful yet in getting to share this perspective with them yet, but I have made a few connections which I hope lead to a more productive dialogue. Should I learn anything, I'll share here.
In the meantime we are subject to continue wainting without visibility...
Today Digitile released new functionaity that has exactly what I woulkd like to see in Dropbox and Paper - an interated Tag list that you can browse. You can see it in the link below. It works with Dropbox. Now, if it was native to Dropbox would be a whole other thing.
