I'm trying to upload 1.5tb of data to a link on someone else's account. They have expanded their data quota to allow for this much data, however the dropbox upload keeps failing at my end. the 1.5TB of data is a collection of raw video media (so it's several hundred thousand files within a series of folders) When I tried to upload this via Apple Safari, the upload repeatedly stopped. I was uploading by loading the URL for the upload link to my friend's dropbox account, and then either dragging & dropping the files onto the upload link or using the folder hierarchy to navigate through the folders to select the material from an external hard drive. I've tried swapping to using Google Chrome for the upload, and now the upload link is asking for my name & email address (as per image below). this link wasn't asking for this information on the Safari web page; why am I being asked to submit my name & email? I've tried putting in my name & email address on the google page Further, the google chrome link doesn't appear to be working either54Views0likes1CommentiPhone videos and photos not uploading to Dropbox. Only some files upload, and the others don't.
Hi, My Dropbox seems to not want to upload Apple iPhone Photos and Videos to my created files. I create photo and video content which I need to distribute to clients using my iPhone however the upload process is almost non existent. I have the Essentials Plan with 3TB storage. I select the maximum files for upload (400 a mix of HEIC iPhone photos and videos shot in 4K 60FPS and mainly video files) and hit upload. The preparation process/loading bar that comes up before being able to upload the files takes almost an hour if not longer. Once this is completed, only some of the 400 files make it to be uploaded so many are missing. Then when I hit upload it says it estimates 2+ days. I do the same process because for one client they get roughly 1000 pieces of content, so need to upload more files. Same process again, it takes forever. My next problem is that the files then sit ‘waiting to be uploaded’ with maybe two or three with a loading bar next to them. They then do not load, and the estimated time to upload says 2 weeks. I might be lucky to get 3/100 files uploaded after 5 hours, but I do not know where the other 900 files have gone (they aren’t anywhere to be found and aren’t in the queue waiting to be uploaded) and none of the other files sitting there will upload. I need this service to be efficient for my work so all the help or advice I can get to get this sorted would be appreciated. thank you. The title says it all. Dropbox capture is the worst "upgrade" I have ever encountered. It adds extra steps to my workflow and is utterly useless to me. I simply want my screen shots to save to my drop box screenshot directory How do I do this? I cannot find the actual directory to which the screen shots are saved to. I can change the screen shot destination easily from the command lineSolved215Views0likes2CommentsI've set my iOS camera uploads to add only new photos, but it's trying to re-upload everything.
I went from a iPhone 11 to a iPhone 16 Pro a few months ago. I backed up photos to Dropbox before I moved everything to the new phone. Had issues with the new phone and Apple had me do a full factory reset, and then I was only able to download certain (minimal) apps from my cloud, to prevent the new phone from picking up anything old that might have caused the issues. This shouldn't affect my Dropbox app, since that is a separate cloud. But now when I back up photos, it is scanning my ENTIRE library of photos, which is many years worth, it seems, and it seems to want to download all of these photos, most of which are already in my Dropbox. I went to settings to see if selecting "Back up/New photos only" would solve this issue, but it only identifies new photos as of today, not the past couple of months since I got this phone. But then I looked at what's in my Camera Uploads folder, and there are photos from as recent as early December, but not current. With my old phone, Dropbox would only grab the new photos since last upload. So what am I doing wrong here?236Views0likes28CommentsNo longer see syncing check marks on Mac when using the Dropbox desktop app
Hoping someone can give me some guidance. I was running dropbox on an older Mac with no problem. I recently purchased a new Mac M4 and migrated all of my files over to this Mac that is running Sequoia. I have the same files and programs that I did on my previous Mac. Dropbox no longer has the check mark status so I know everything is syncing or has synced. The files ARE syncing and they are current, just no status marks. I have re-started the Finder a number of times. I removed the Dropbox app and re-installed. Re-started the computer after a few times. No change in behavior. Is something conflicting with this app. Odd as I've added no new apps since moving to this Mac. Trying to sort it out. Thank you.Solved351Views1like18CommentsReloading Apple photos from Dropbox folder
I had a major problem upgrading an iphone and bottom line lost all my UGC from 2020-2024 (corrupted back up). I have all the iphotos from that period in Dropbox. I want to put them back onto my phone. I tried synching them but what happened was they all went in with the current date and time and lost the meta data. Anyone have any idea how I get around this? It failed to recognize locations and dates.33Views0likes1CommentThe Dropbox desktop app gets stuck syncing for the team on MacOS
To clarify, dropbox works 95% of the time, so it's not a sync issue. But for me and my whole dropbox team, roughly once or twice a day, dropbox completely binds up. For example, I have double clicked to open a 6MB file and it's been 20min and still nothing. The icon at the top says syncing but the file never actually downloads and opens. when i hover mouse over the dropbox icon it says 'syncing' but no KB upload or download rate that it usually has when it's actually syncing. It's some sort of bug as again, dropbox works 95% of the time fore uploads and downloads, but then its just dies and you cant open anything for an hour until something happens and it randomly comes back online. I have tried pausing the sycn and starting again. I have tried restarting dropbox. no success. Maybe a restart of the computer. but geez it's frustrating.88Views0likes5CommentsCamera Uploads IOS 18 on iPad not working correctly
I have upgraded to iOS 18 on my iPad and updated the Dropbox app. I turned Camera Uploads on, with Upload from set to Camera Roll and Back up set to All Photos. Nothing is uploaded, even though my Camera Roll has over 16,000 photos. Uploading manually is not an option, as there is no Select All function. In addition, manual upload only allows 400 photos at a time. The new iOS 18 Photos app no longer has a folder named 'Camera Roll', so I'm wondering if that is the problem? I logged out of the Dropbox app and back in, which then took me through Set Up your Dropbox. The Upload Photos option seemed like it would work if I chose Imports, but again there is no Select All option. So I went back to the Camera Uploads settings and turned Camera Roll off, and Recently Saved (under Smart Folders) on. Same thing, nothing uploads. I'm stumped!172Views0likes5Comments
