Folders, with folders, with folders ....
I have a very large folder (36 GB), containing folders, containing folders etc. I tried to upload the large folder but it didn't work; just a small part was uploaded. Is there a limit to what I can upload? I understand it will take a lot of time. Thanks in advance, Leo.
"You need permission to perform this action" each time I'm creating a folder.
I have searched through the forum for a solution but have yet to find one. I am using the desktop and trying to create a folder and keep getting the error, "destination folder access denied" "you need permission to perform this action". I have unchecked "read only" in the properties and it re-checks "read only" as soon as I go back to try to create a folder. I am the owner, administrator etc of this computer and I pay for a drop box plan. I recently got a new computer and have had this issue ever since! I should not have to log into dropbox online every time I want to create a folder. I am running windows 11. I have ensured that I have the proper permissions checked. I do not know what else I can do at this point. Please help, as this is affecting my day to day business.Allow us to create top level team folders locally on the desktop app again.
The new feature wherein no one can create a top level team folder locally on computer is the dumbest thing I have come across. I see it is no longer possible even rename the folders. Hope this idiotic feature is eliminated else I will move to one drive.

Description: I noticed an issue where renaming an empty file in Dropbox results in the creation of a JSON metadata file. This JSON file seems to contain information related to the file preview, even though the file itself is empty.Steps to Reproduce: Create an empty file in Dropbox i chose to make a empty paper doc file Rename the file in the dropbox dashboard into .sql extension (i only tested in .xml and .json and sometimes they give different results like a binary file. observe I am a Software Developer and Tester and I like digging around, please don't think I was trying to hack, I do this for fun and I report my findings, Always. I'm having issues renaming scanned files in the iOS Dropbox app
I use Dropbox App on my iPhone a lot for scanning. I scan the file, then select Rename and change to what I want the name to be. Today I scanned a document and clicked on Rename. I had the name in the edit box and several suggestions below that I could select, but there was no keyboard for backspace where I could put in the name I wanted. This just started today. After I scanned the document. I opened DropBox on my Mac and easily changed the file name. Needless to say this is a hassle using two devices to scan then change the name! Any help would be appreciated.
Video File Conversion ends up with a total loss of audio.
Using the Save As feature, I have a total loss of audio when converting from MOV to a MP4 720P or MP4 360P file (the video conversion looks fine). Any ideas on how to remedy this? The reason for compression is that it's a large file (489MB). I need to reduce to at least a <60MB.Bulk update file versions
Hi, can someone help me to understand if Dropbox is suitable for my use case? 1. I need a way of versioning PDF files without changing the download link. I think this is standard functionality in Dropbox, however I have over 1000 price list PDF files in different languages that are updated frequently, and I'm trying to find a way to avoid manually updating each file version. It would be troublesome to update each file version one by one. Is there a way of bulk uploading new file versions from a CSV or something along those lines with the original download link remaining constant? Please let me know if any of this needs clarifying. Hello, This is a question for Dropbox staff. I've noticed that recent ideas threads are being closed by Dropbox staff after exactly one month, citing "inactivity" as the reason. I'm curious to understand the rationale behind this practice. Given that ideas currently face visibility challenges on the platform, a one-month window may not provide sufficient time for community engagement.
