I have deleted all my connections and I still get this message. What am I doing wrong? I just want to download everything and move to another service. I find dropbox far too complicated nowadays. I have been trying for weeks to get my stuff downloaded. I want to delete some files in dropbox to make it smaller first but it wont even allow me to delete files.31Views0likes2CommentsDeleted Dropbox but didn't restore space on local hard
I downloaded the Dropbox application, synced a folder and realized it actually stores the files locally. I understand now what I didn't before. However, after unlinking my account, deleting the application and the Dropbox folder, I still have not reclaimed the 70GB. Any idea why that is? macOS Mojave ThanksSolved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsUploaded newer version of a file, but seeing the old one
Had this occur before. I have a saved file called (say) "Book" dated May 2023. I delete it from my Dropbox. I then upload an updated file, also called "Book" but dated January 2024. This must be correct because other people access it. I then later access Dropbox on my tablet. It shows the old file dated May 2023 which does not exist and not the new file. How can this possibly be?Solved958Views0likes4CommentsA Simpler Way to Delete and View Photos
I often want to clear out unwanted photos on the Dropbox app, but it’s so cumbersome just to delete a photo that I quickly give up. In the main view the photos are too small to see any detail, but if you click on the photo it takes steps and scrolling to delete, which makes deleting one photo take too much time. It would be nice to have at least one more view option with photos about 2-3 times bigger and any easy delete option.791Views0likes4CommentsWill files downloaded from Dropbox, remain on my hard-drive if I deleted them from Dropbox?

Hello - I have on on-going issue that I need help. I wish to remove the“My Mac” folders (/Desktop, /Downloads and /Documents directories using a .local folder) from my Dropbox account that got erroneously installed during the set-up of a new computer (running Big Sur 11.1). Unfortunately, I have been unable to disable the "computer backup" feature under my account, preferences, etc. It only says SET UP (but I have already set it up). In addition, I cannot get the device unlinked from dropbox.com when I try that method. All of this is is all being done on the same device where computer backup was set up, but it is still not working. I need some help undoing this. Thank you.1.8KViews2likes3CommentsUnable to delete files... which cannot be unlocked
I am attempting to delete some rather large files from my wife's computer so she can update to the latest version, Big Sur, for her Macbook Air. She previously downloaded the files from her minister's Bible study forum on Dropbox. She can easily access them from Dropbox.com, so I thought it possible to delete her dropbox folder. Unfortunately, the files did not go away and the Dropbox folder doesn't show up in Finder. I found a lot of the files by searching for the large Zoom files. When I try to delete these files individually, they are locked and will not unlock. The system says she does not have the appropriate permission. I can't change the permissions. How can I delete these files? Note the following screenshot. The Dropbox folder appears to be located in the Documents folder, but it does not show up; it is hidden and I do not know how to unhide it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I have the Dropbox app installed (Windows 10) and am getting the message that my Dropbox is full. I have no files in the local Dropbox folder. When I sign into Dropbox on the web, the only place I see items is under "Photos." These photos are NOT in my local Dropbox folder. When I attempt to download a photo, I get the error message "There was an error downloading your file." I saw the suggestion to create a share link and use that to download the pictures. When I attempt to do this, I click "Share Link" and then "Copy link." I get an error message "Something went wrong..." at the bottom of the screen. This happens: - On two different computers. - In and out of Incognito mode. - In both Google Chrome and Firefox (no error messages in Firefox, but nothing happens). I cannot copy the file. The only action I can take is to delete the file. The file is deleted, but does not appear in my Deleted files. In the Dropbox app on both computers, the Activity tab shows the pictures I view on the web so there is some connection. But the photos are not downloaded to my computer. Please advise how I can get these photos out of Dropbox to free up space. Thank you.Solved1.2KViews0likes2Comments
