Hi, folder "Quick view" would be more helpful to me if it could show more thumbnails in its panel. Right now the thumbnails are huge and can only show four. Would be great to have smaller thumbnails so I can see 4x that amount in the right panel. Thanks.5Views0likes0CommentsMoving files on my desktop to the trash deletes them immediately instead.
I am running Dropbox Backup. On MacOS, when I drag a file on my desktop to the trash, it is deleted automatically. In other words, it does not appear in the trash in case I want to recover it later. I get a warning that says"This item will be deleted immediately. You can't undo this action." When the same file is in any other folder or location on my computer besides the Desktop, and I drag it to the trash, the behavior is normal - the files goes into the trash where I can see it and recover it if need be. I am running Dropbox Backup on Sequoia 15.2 on a 2020 M1 Macbook Air. Any thoughts?10Views0likes0CommentsI can't paste the screenshots I capture on Windows

Please try again later."
Running into the error listed in the topic title. This is a fresh Dropbox Lite install. I've approved the login via email. The app was able to create a folder, but it refuses to upload any files. My storage is not full. I've tried multiple connectivity types (Wifi and cellular). I've restarted the app. No unusual characters are used in the filename. I've tested with a brand new .txt file as well on a different drive; same issue. Doesn't appear to be any status disruptions. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!108Views0likes4CommentsDropped a file into my Dropbox folder and don't know how to get it out

I had some issues with my Dropbox files and so, I decided to uninstall the entire Dropbox folder from my laptop and reinstall again. I recently switched to Linux from Windows and was looking to have my Dropbox accessible on my desktop. I installed the app direct from the website, and the app looks like its from the early 2000's. I also like to keep a copy of my files offline, through an external desktop expansion, that is synced with the cloud. However, there is no ability (on Linux) to be able to select the sync destination on your computer to be on a different drive than your original one. The Linux version of Dropbox desperately needs to be updated with modern and basic functionality62Views0likes6CommentsMac OS Sequoia is arriving. Is DropBox ready?
Hi everyone, who remembers the chaos that happened last year with the Mac OS Sonoma update and all the issues we had with DropBox? There was a particular version that caused syncing to go haywire. I remember it all too well, as it took us almost a month to figure out how to fix the problem. What will happen with Mac OS Sequoia? I admit, I'm quite anxious and would appreciate some reassurance from the DropBox team. Thanks.10KViews8likes66CommentsAdd .dropboxignore directory to exclude folders without using selective sync
Please please please can you add a feature that allows folders to be excluded from the Dropbox account (on windows and mac). For sure I'm not the first person to request this, but I'm yet to find a good explanation of why it's not there. A quick google search reveals loads of people also looking for the same feature. I really like the workflow I have with dropbox, but it's getting to the point where I might switch providers in order to allow better selective sync. I've seen hackish solutions using selective sync, but it would be great if this could be done in one of the following ways: - global pattern matching eg "node_modules" - a marker file in the directory like .dropboxignore - a simple right click context menu "Ignore this folder" Other than that, keep up the good work. Cheers. Tom610KViews1387likes1014CommentsAutomatic logout from the Dropbox desktop app at a specific time (e.g., midnight)
I would love to see a feature in Dropbox that allows admins or users to schedule an automatic logout from the desktop application at a specific time—for example, every night at midnight. In many workplaces, multiple employees share the same computer, and they don’t always remember to sign out of Dropbox at the end of the day. This leaves their files and data accessible to whoever uses the computer next. An automatic daily logout would improve security and privacy, ensuring that every user starts fresh the next day and logs in to their own account. If possible, this feature could be customizable, allowing admins to set different logout times or trigger events based on company policies (like end of shift). It would be a great addition for both business and personal users who share devices. Thank you for considering this idea!24Views1like4Comments
