Why does a dl.dropboxusercontent.com download link behave differently?
A friend and I share mp3 files through dropbox though I use dropbox.cm and he uses dl.dropboxusercontent.com. The link I send him looks and behaves differently than the one he sends me. He gets a button to download the file while his link opens Windows Media Player and I must go through a few more steps to download the file. This is non-copyrighted material, by the way. The only way to get his link when clicked is to add a suffix with the characters - ?dl=0 to the end of the link. What gives with this?Solved200KViews10likes22Comments
Is there a fix if my Dropbox file download keeps failing?
Every time I try to download a file I get a failed status in Chrome or Safari. When I download in Firefox it fails, however Firefox allows me to "restart" the download and it begins again where it left off... so I can complete the download by repeating this as many times as necessary per file. Very annoying. For a larger file (say 4 GB) I had to do this "restart" in Firefox 4-5 times before the file reached the end of the download and completed successfully. I see this is an on-going issue for Dropbox for several years - is there an indication as to waht is causing this? Going to have to ditch the service altogether if there is no real fix. How to download large files and folders from Dropbox
I am using dropbox desktop to upload a bunch of files for clients. Each client has a folder created for them, and in that folder are files that are up to roughly 10gb in size. The client and I are not sharing back and forth, all they need to do is download the files in that folder once. I would assume that most of my clients are not dropbox members, and are trying to download with the web client. On the web client, there is a download button so they can download the contents of that folder. However, everyone who tries to download the files get the same message: "file is too large to download". On any given day, I could have up to 5 people trying to download thier files from me. Is there a limit on how much storage can be downloaded in a day? How can I get my files to my clients?Solved130KViews3likes11Comments

How do I open PDF files from Dropbox on Android devices?
Hello :-) There is a problem with PDF files. They do not open when downloading in android devices :-( The dropbox link is ?dl=1 There isn't any problem when downloading in Desktop PC and Apple iOS, there is problem only in Android. Hey guys im having a problem opening folders I have downloaded from dropbox. I have since deleted it from dropbox (so cant try reloading the files). I have tried opening it 3 on different computers and im getting the same message. All videos from iPhone X have sound but the video image is missing when downloaded to my PC running Windows 10. The videos were shot on multiple video apps with the same result. The result is the same for automatically synced videos (Camera Uploads Folder) or uploaded manually with the ios app. The videos appear to play normally within the Dropbox web app but when downloaded to my PC the problem occurs.
