Dropbox Plus
297 TopicsUploading photos from phone
I basically got Dropbox in order to move my enormous collection of pictures and videos from my iPhone to somewhere else...The transfer went fine for a while, but then it has stopped and I keep seeing a message saying "waiting to upload". I have quit the application and relaunched, which does nothing. I have even upgraded Dropbox, as I suspect I will need the extra space... There is still over 400 pictures which are "waiting to upload" plus a few videos. And did I mention I started this process 13th of December...?Solved38KViews0likes37CommentsDropbox Not working after restart: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment.
I have been experiencing a very frustrating issue with Dropbox the past few days. Issue: After restarting my Mac Studio (MacOS 13.6.5), Dropbox always gets stuck with the message: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment. No VPN No Firewall Home Network Fully updated Dropbox The thing that is baffling is that : If you Quit and restart Dropbox it works immediately but if you restart the computer the issue appears again If you wait for a long time Dropbox eventually connects and syncs. But it takes a long time On the same computer, about a week ago, Dropbox was syncing instantly after reboot. I have tried already reinstalling and deleting the cache folder. Is this a known issue that's going on at the moment> Many thanksSolved31KViews13likes120CommentsIs there a cheaper plan than the Plus plan, that offers more space?
my question is: Is there any plan that is even cheaper than the normal basic plan of 2000 tb? It happens that I want to have more storage space, but the cheapest plan is still quite expensive. Is there an alternative storage plan, which is cheaper?Solved31KViews12likes171CommentsiOS 11 Files App iPad - waiting to download
Using the Files App on iOS 11 - on my 11.2 iPhone 7 Plus everything works perfectly. From the Files App I see thumbnail representation of Dropbox files, I tap the file (e.g. a PDF) and it downloads and opens. On my 9.7 iPad Pro also running 11.2 - same Dropbox account - same files - no thumbnails, and every file tap results in “Waiting to download” and a spinning circle forever. Cleared cache, no Dropbox pin, turned off 2FA, deleted and reinstalled both Dropbox and Files App and same result. Contacted Dropbox Support and got boilerplate “use our app instead of Apple’s” mindless response. Apple support says it is a Dropbox issue. I just want it to work like it does on the phone. Any suggestions?Solved27KViews1like31CommentsNeed all my files accessible locally. On my machine there's no option to "Make Available Offline."
Honestly, this seemingly late "bringing to the forefront" (I guess you'd call it) of the whole "Online Only" vs. "Make Available Offline" thing has been more of a headache than a help, if I may offer my opinion. I purchased a new ultra-portable Windows computer which has a 256GB SSD on board, but I plan on using my Dropbox files with it, and I have well over 256GB worth of stuff in my Dropbox. The thing is that I'm often in situations in which I need offline access to my files. So I purchased a 1 TB microSD card, which will never leave its slot in this machine. Heck, I can't even retrieve it, it seems. I mounted it so that it isn't considered "Removable Media" by the computer, and then I proceeded to install Dropbox on the computer, with the intent of using the 1 TB card exclusively for Dropbox content...offline. I left my machine to sync overnight, and what do you know? Everything has a stupid cloud next to it. I have no option to "Make Available Offline," either in the file/folder context menu or in the Dropbox application > Preferences > Sync menu. If this is by design, it's a pitifully stupid design. I'm going to whatever lengths I can to make this work the way I envision, but I'm going to be awfully disappointed if Dropbox doesn't respect use cases that might not necessarily conform to a narrow definition. If it's an issue with a recent update to the application, then please bug the developers posthaste.Solved25KViews1like125CommentsUnsubscribe Dropbox Plus Trial from Google Play Store
I subscribed for Dropbox Plus Trial from Google Play Store. I only can unsubscribe from Google Play Store and not the 'Billing' or 'Plan' page as I did not sign up for trial through Dropbox. I need to unsuscribe in the next 48 hours but my Google Play Store subscription is empty, so I cannot find it to unsubscribe. Please help me, thank you!Solved18KViews0likes22CommentsDropbox won’t play videos on iPhone app
I have Dropbox Plus, and have the Dropbox app on my iPhone 7 Plus. I tried to look at some baby videos of my daughter on Dropbox (from the last year or so), and none of them will play. They will register that it’s a video, but when I tap it to play, the length of the video doesn’t show, and nothing happens. I’ve tried lots of videos, and they are all the same, except a slo-no video, which plays fine.Solved17KViews0likes5CommentsDropbox personal professional vs. business standard
Hi I would like to know how the community comparing these two plans. I already have dropbox personal plus and my company give me a dropbox business account. However, I really want to use smart sync in my personal folder. Of course, I can save my files in dropbox business folder, but I just don't want. So, there are two options for me, personal professional and business standard. I only want to use smartsync in my personal files, which option is the best? I see that business standard is even cheaper than perosnal pro... How the community members comparing two? A little bit confused.Solved17KViews0likes3CommentsScan Document feature freezes on "Waiting to Upload"
Howdy all, I keep getting a glitch when attempting to create a document through the Dropbox "Scan Document" feature. I can scan the document, make adjustments, etc, but once I hit "Save" it gets stuck with the message 'Waiting to Upload". I've been working on this for about an hour, attempted about a dozen scans. Sometimes the blue progress bar appears, moves to the right, then goes back to the message "Wating to Upload". Sometimes it will cycle through this a few times, sometimes it just stays on the "Waiting to Upload" mesage. It also gets stuck if I hit the "Save as Scan" button on a photo from the Camera Uploads folder. I'm only using 12.9% of a 2 TB account, and Dropbox is updated to the newest version. I'm using an iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 11.2.5. I have about 180GB avialble space on my iPhone. I can upload documents to Dropbox from other apps on my iPhone, they sync just fine. Camera Uploads is turned On, and syncing photos and videos just fine. I've tried the following: tried to save one page scans, 5 page scans, custom names, default name, small and large file size settings waited for 20+minutes on upload tried to save to different folders turned wi-fi off and on again on phone restarted Dropbox, restarted the phone Any solutions out there?Solved16KViews0likes34Comments
