Hi, I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 13" with the M1 processor and I cannot seem to get a native install of Dropbox for this chipset. From searching the community, it seems like M1 support should be available in the latest installer. However, trying that plus the latest beta build all ask me to install Rosetta during installation. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, WarrenSolved104KViews64likes184CommentsFamily plan is too expensive for what it offers
While I would like to have the ability for my wife and I to share a combined account with our own individual logins - it's not worth the extra $80/year, almost doubling the cost for only a limited increase in features. If it came with double the storage I might consider it, but even then I'm not sure I need that much more storage at the moment. Please reconsider the pricing on the family plan as I will never upgrade at anywhere near that price. It makes more sense to just have 2 Plus accounts since it comes with the extra storage. With the amount of competition out there for similar cloud storage, it's getting more difficult to justify the cost of dropbox, so I was really expecting a minimal increase in price, if any at all versus the Plus plan I am currently paying for.15KViews21likes32CommentsDropbox Not working after restart: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment.
I have been experiencing a very frustrating issue with Dropbox the past few days. Issue: After restarting my Mac Studio (MacOS 13.6.5), Dropbox always gets stuck with the message: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment. No VPN No Firewall Home Network Fully updated Dropbox The thing that is baffling is that : If you Quit and restart Dropbox it works immediately but if you restart the computer the issue appears again If you wait for a long time Dropbox eventually connects and syncs. But it takes a long time On the same computer, about a week ago, Dropbox was syncing instantly after reboot. I have tried already reinstalling and deleting the cache folder. Is this a known issue that's going on at the moment> Many thanksSolved29KViews13likes120Comments--> Did you know... you can search for images using just text?
Hello Dropbox Community! My name is Lainie and I'm a Product Manager at Dropbox. Every now and again, I am going to post a "--> Did you know..." to 1) keep you informed of all of the cool technology that exists at Dropbox and 2) gather your feedback on how the features are performing. In today's, "--> Did you know..." I'll be talking about Image Search! Image search is allows you to use the Search Bar to search for the contents of the image using words to describe the image. For example, if you search for "cat" your search results will show files that 1) contain the word "cat" in the file name or body, AND 2) files that contain images of cat. No mention of the word "cat" is necessary! Pretty cool! If you haven't yet, I recommend that you check it out. Please respond to this thread and let me know... A) Did you know this feature existed? Do you use it? B) How can we make this even more useful for you? Have a great day! Welcome to the Dropbox Community forum! We're thrilled to have you on board, and we want to make sure you get the most out of your Dropbox experience right from the start. Today, we're going to talk about Selective Sync. What is Selective Sync? Well, selective sync is a feature in the Dropbox desktop app that allows you to remove specific Dropbox folders from your hard drive so you can save space on your computer. You can remove the Dropbox folders from your computer without deleting files; the folders you remove from your hard drive remain stored in your account on dropbox.com How to use selective sync Note: To use selective sync, youâll need to have the Dropbox desktop app installed on your device. To choose which Dropbox folders to store on or remove from your computerâs hard drive: Open your Dropbox desktop app preferences. Click the Dropbox icon in your taskbar. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner. Click Preferences. Click the Sync tab. Under Selective Sync (Windows), click Modify or Select folders to sync to this Mac (Mac), click Modify. Check the folders youâd like saved on your hard drive. Uncheck the folders youâd like removed. Click Update. What is the difference between selective sync and online-only? Making your files and folders online-only also helps save hard drive space. These files and folders will still be visible from your computer, but are stored in your Dropbox account online. Based on how you use certain files and folders, they can automatically be set to online-only. That's it! Now you can save valuable space for things that matter most to you, and learn how other Dropbox features can improve your day too! So, what do you want to see from us? Ever since this update was forced upon us, my File Explorer no longer works properly. It takes forever to load with a green bar at the top and white icons. When it does finally load, if I click on a file to either open it or copy it or whatever, I get the blue donut and nothing happens for ages. I have to go away and do something else for 5 or 10 minutes before it will finally allow me to right-click or open it. I am beyond frustrated now. It took me over an hour to complete a simple copy and paste task this morning that would normally take less than 5 minutes. I simply cannot run my business this way. I've tried various things such as the obvious rebooting etc. I also tried to rename the Shell Icon Overlays as there is apparently a limit in Windows and Dropbox was apparently causing an overlay limit conflict. I also cleared my thumbnail/icon cache. Nothing I do is working. It's awful and I hate the change. I just want it to work. File Explorer isn't great at the best of times as it's so unreliable and I've always had to restart it 2 or 3 times a day. But now it's not working for me at all. Please can someone help? I am incredibly busy at work and have now wasted a good 4 hours on this. I really desperately need to get on with my work. I'm using Windows 10 Pro and it's up to date.651Views5likes12Commentsđđ€Community Spirit Badge đ€đ

Welcome to the Dropbox Community! Hey there, new Dropbox users! If you're just starting your journey with Dropbox , we're thrilled to have you here. We would love to know why you started using Dropbox to begin with, so we can share tips and advice that works for you. To get us started, weâll share some tips for getting started, and on some of the most popular and useful features of Dropbox to get you up to speed. Some of the top things we recommend to get up to speed and get the most out of Dropbox: Upload your first files: Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with starting at 3 TB of team storage and backup. Explore security features such as file recovery, password protection, watermarking, and viewer history to keep your data safe. To upload a file, you simply need to click the upload files button On dropbox.com, once youâre logged in, you just need to: Click Upload under the search bar at the top Then follow on and click Files Select as many files as you like and click Open. If youâre doing this on the Dropbox desktop app, you can take those files or folders youâd like to add, then drag and drop (or copy and paste) them into the open Dropbox folder. And youâre done! Share those files: Now that you have your files in the right place, you will probably want to share a file with someone else at some point, so letâs get into it. When youâre logged in to dropbox.com, you can hover over the file or folder youâd like to share and click the share icon (rectangle with an up arrow). Here you can type in the Email, or name of the person youâd like to share with, and click to select them from the results. Need to send it to multiple people? Perfect, you can do that here too. Select Can edit or Can view - it does what it says on the tin, but you can choose the permissions here to make sure you are in control of your file. Add a note if youâd like, and check the checkbox if youâd like to Post this note as a comment. (I usually use this to give someone context on why Iâm sharing the file, or what they need to be aware of) Click Share file. Thatâs it! If youâre more of a visual learner, you can check out this great video here in the Learn video library. Now you can share photos, docs, basically files of almost any type with the people who matter to you. Whether you just want to share, or youâre working on something together, you can control access and be sure everyone has access to the same version. Edit those PDFs with ease No technical wizardry, no back-and-forth file conversions, and no additional software to install. Dropbox makes it easy to upload, edit, send, and sign PDFs in one place. Rather than explain it in too many words, check out this video here: That should cover your bases, but we want to emphasize that this is your Community too. Tell us what you want to see, start conversations, share ideas, and get involved. This is your space, so get the most out of it! Looking forward to seeing you around here!
