Streamlining my workflow with Dropbox and DaVinci Resolve
Hello Dropbox Team, As a photographer and filmmaker, I’m currently trying to streamline my workflow using Dropbox and DaVinci Resolve. My ideal setup involves a single, organized Dropbox folder where I can share everything with my clients—planning documents, administrative paperwork, NDAs, project files, and final deliverables. However, I’ve been facing confusion because I’m using both Dropbox and Dropbox Replay. This means that my files and feedback are scattered across different locations, making it challenging to keep everything in sync and having different Links floating around with clients. Ideally, I would love a unified workflow where everything is within one shared dropbox folder and feedback gathered on videos appears directly within DaVinci Resolve, allowing me to seamlessly incorporate client feedback into my editing timeline. I’m reaching out to see if there’s a way to simplify this process, so that all my project files, feedback, and final versions are neatly organized in one place. Copy/Reference Comments On Older Version in New Version
Something that would really be helpful would to be to optionall overlay/copy the comments of older versions onto a new version. Here's the use case: I'm working on a video and we get some comments from a client to change a specific shot or edit something at a timecode. We make the change, and upload the new version. We need to continue talking about or reference this comment to keep the conversation going about this specific change. As it stands right now, all old comments are lost with new versions – you can switch to the older version but clients aren't going to do that and it doesn't really make sense. So currently we have to go in and find that change at the specific time, make a new comment to keep the conversation going. When you have very long videos this gets tedious. It would be great to somehow copy over that comment from that specific user or reference it somehow, instead of it completely being locked in older versions. This would also be useful for times when a new reviewer steps in and has no idea what has been done or why. Or when we have long videos and just need to pinpoint a specific time. The ability to reference older comments/notes would be great. Basically we need to be able to compare old/new versions in one place.Replay Version Stacking
Version stacking process should be simplified. Currently, you have to select the file > go to the drop down menu > select "new version" > choose the directory > select the new file > click "upload." This is very time consuming when working with 100's of images with multiple versions. Ideally, I would drag and drop all the revised files into the web browser > wait for the upload to finish > sort by name > click and drag the new version over top of the old version. Currently using Replay as my main online video tool, but also paying for a Vimeo membership for the sole purpose as a hosting platform from which I embed on my personal website. Creating some simple embedding options on Replay would be huge!
