Dropbox Vault

About Vault, I don't understand why if we want more privacy with our documents they can be seen in the Dropbox desktop application in the activity and synchronization history section after having blocked Vault. In my opinion, when Vault is blocked, my activity or history should not be seen if it is not Vault. Although they will not be able to enter without the 6-digit pin, they will be able to see my files violating my privacy, which is not logical. If I save something in Vault it's because I don't want anyone else to see it, it doesn't make sense for it to be seen in activity and history. Also it locks after 3 minutes of inactivity which is very little, they should allow the user to choose the time to automatically lock Vault. I hope they solve it soon because other services already do it correctly. At school, when I was a child, they taught me that if something is private it must be private and not be exposed, hopefully Dropbox as a company thinks of users who want more privacy can achieve it or at least give them the option to choose if they want to expose something or not4.6KViews1like2CommentsVault exposed my file!
I was editing a file in my Vault in File Explorer. Somehow I got a conflict. Next day I found a folder had been created outside Vault "DropBox\Vault (view-only conflicts 2023-05-20)\..." with a copy of my file which was inside Vault! So my secret Vault file was open for all to read! This could happen to any of my files. I need a better secure folder which is synced between Windows and Android. Any ideas?2.1KViews0likes7CommentsVault locked online, but can't lock in File Explorer.
I unlocked my Vault and added files to it. Now when I try to lock the vault again, I have the situation where: (1) the Vault will NOT lock in Windows Explorer (2) I logged into my account on the Dropbox website, locked the Vault and still the Vault will NOT lock in Windows Explorer (3) I logged OUT of my account on the Dropbox website, (with the Vault locked) and still the Vault will NOT lock in Windows Explorer. (4) I have tried several times to lock the Vault in Windows Explorer, mainly by R-click and selecting "Lock Vault". WHY WON'T IT LOCK? This is a serious situation, when the Vault is supposed to "hide" files until it's unlocked. It shouldn't be this hard to lock the Vault. What is going on? I've searched all the menus. It shouldn't be this hard! Thanks for help... but Dropbox.... you need to make this more straightforward.1.6KViews1like5CommentsPassword protect with encryption individual folders within macOS Finder Dropbox (non-sharing)
Feature request, Dropbox password protection for individual folders with encryption. This would allow password protecting folders holding sensitive info. An encryption feature that allows any individual folder within Dropbox to be turned into its own Vault-like folder. This encryption would be based on a complex password. The data would be auto-saved offline along with all other Dropbox data. Different folders would have different passwords. When a given encrypted folder is opened (with password), it mounts the folder for available use like any other folder. These folders would have a timed-auto-lock function. The timed-auto-lock would have its own settings for how long of a delay (including 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, and indefinite). The given folder can be set to be locked: no changes to files, only allow changes to subfolders; to make changes to a file, the file would have to be moved to another location, edited, saved, and then re-added to the given encrypted folder (like a backup archive).1KViews0likes1CommentOption for Dropbox Vault to be hidden and additional step for resetting Vault's pass-code
I think it would be a great idea for security purposes that the vault has an option to be hidden or just not so easy to find in the case someone else has access to your Dropbox. Additionally, I believe resetting the password/passcode for the vault should be a two or more step process that triggers an email that requires confirmation as a first step. The second step could be a personal security question or something along those lines to ensure privacy to the owner.851Views0likes1CommentUrgent help securing Dropbox from attack
We have a major problem from a hacker/s across our systems and the core access that is being focused on is our Dropbox and OneDrive that each have around 8TB of data on them regarding a crime syndicate. We have all the protections possible from Dropbox 2 phase confirmation and rolling codes to access. Now here comes the kicker, he has access as he is a tech for the networks, the operator in question has the official site visits listed but seems they having problems identifying who due the sone scrambled data. So he's got access to our phones and fibre routers, we can even trace and see our tunnels getting redirected the vpn's being distrusted till everything stops. We've tried all we can think of but an unknown phone with a cheap prepay sim and location off he still had access to in a couple of hours picking up some data somehow. Live on a small island and the switching centre serves all the operator. The data we believe is completely safe because hunting way to control devices to gain access at sane time, we have no saved passwords anywhere and the devices with rolling code are turned off but we have found we have to disable remote wake up features on all kinds of devices because he clearly has access to network operator digital certificates that gain access to reprogram. Sadly we need to work with all this data now without it he compromised. Ideal solution would be Dropbox to hold a secondary copy of all data locked away from the two of us to keep it completely safe whilst we continue spending more time switching firewall, VPN, process control and machines than working. Is there something I'm missing when someone has control of your fibres and where it heads most of the time once he's caught up with which fibre gets used for what, keep streaming and circulating junk randomly to sneak a couple of minutes access on a new item that click into the network fully defended to get what we want. File sizes are the killer for us. Oh and the police in this area are part of the case so worse than help đ€Ș Need like a time lock vault the we can add a copy into and whatever happens in 30 days it can be opened when it's definitely safe again.709Views0likes1CommentVault is missing after upgrading to Business
I have recently upgraded to a business package and when I did this I have no more access to my vault or the contents thereof, I see some discussions suggest when trying to access vault the contents will be moved to a normal folder which has not happened. I need to recover the contents on the vault.671Views0likes3Comments
