253 TopicsCan adult content be uploaded legally to Dropbox?
Hello, The terms of use are a bit vague, so I need some more clarification please, particularly in layman's terms. If someone writes erotica (their own), and uploads to Dropbox to share to an 18+ audience, can they do so? Same question applies to those who have made their own amateur or professional porn videos Same question applies for amateur/professional porn audio (recording masturbation, etc.) Same question applies for amateur/professional porn pictures (nudes, photoshoots, adult models, etc.) As long as the porn is not illegal (aka includes minors, animals, those who cannot give consent, etc.), and all parties involved in the MAKING of the adult content are 18+ and consent, can they still upload and share their adult content? Thanks for the help!Solved100KViews9likes2CommentsDrobox for Android - Upload Folder Including all Files and Subfolders
Being that android devices have a file manager, I was really hoping you could copy a folder (including all files and subfolders inside the folder) and paste on to Dropbox inside a Dropbox folder. Is there any possible way to upload a whole folder of files from the Google Android operating system? I don't think this can be done at the present time. That would be really super if you could. I am using Google Android's 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with the Dropbox app.Solved24KViews7likes13CommentsWhy do shared folders take up my own account's space?
I'm working for someone who has a dropbox pro acocunt unlimited account. However, it won't let me upload to his dropbox because I have a free account and limited storage. I work for lots of people I can't join every storage solution out there. He has paid for pro, I should be able to upload to it and it should not count as part of my digital storage. I'm uploading images for him to use, into his dropbox acocunt, my account should not have any bearing should it? If it does its a very very stupid bit of product planning. Or have I misunderstood the messages I'm getting? Cheers JohnSolved7.6KViews5likes3CommentsLive Photos (iPhone)

Please anyone, this is one of the most important thing for me . . . I still have some photos in my iPhone, and I do not want to lose then also . . .I will never more be able to take that precious pictures :-( !Solved16KViews5likes7CommentsWhy does DropBox rename photos based on modification date rather than creation date?
Previously, DropBox renamed camera uploads based on the photos creation date (EXIF: Date/Time Original). This makes sense because you want the photos to be name-sorted based on when they were taken. Now DropBox renames camera uploads based on the modification date (EXIT: File/Modification Date/Time). This makes no sense because the files are now out of chronological order when sorted by name.6.3KViews4likes26CommentsCreate File Request Directly From Destination Folder
It would be great if we could create file requests directly from the destination folder, rather than going through the file request section and manually scrolling through our firms hundreds of folders to find the right one. The procedure should be: Navigate to the desired folder as usual -> click button that says "Create File Request to This Folder". If it could also be integrated into the windows file explorer, that'd be even better.Solved1.1KViews3likes2CommentsWhy does a shared folder not share quota?
I just got off a chat with one of Dropbox's representatives. In short, I have a Dropbox professional plan and I created a separate folder for each of my students. Yesterday, one of my students got a message that her account is "full" despite me having two and a half terabytes of free space left. Well, guess what, space is calculated double - once on my account and once on hers. So, let me get this straight, if I share a big folder with a lot of files with, say, 20 people, Dropbox will require all 20 of them to pay for the same amount of space!? Anybody from Dropbox cares to justify this!?Solved3.1KViews3likes10CommentsDropbox doesn't sync symbolic links anymore
Hi, until this summer I was able to sync folders outside Dropbox using simbolic links. I just tried again to sync a folder with this tricky method and it's not working. I tried to create simbolic link with normal and admin user rights, I tried to sync a folder in another disk partition, it just doesn't work anymore. The "fun fact" is that the old symbolic links I created are working, but if I create a new one it shows a red X on it. I know it's not a feature but a tricky method, but I read that Dropbox doesn't support simbolic link anymore. Just....WHY. It was so useful, the only drawback was that the sync wasn't in real time with the great advantage of being able to save any folder you want without moving it into Dropbox. In OneDrive I'm still able to use it (I use it even at work to backup (backup, not syncing, because it's not syncing in real time) my user folders), in Dropbox the old ones are working, but why not the new ones? The command I use to create simbolic link is like this: mklink /J "F:\Dropbox\TRANSFER\PC GAME\USERDATA_links\Pictures" "F:\USERDATA\Pictures" Note that I could try with any folder, even in C: but it doesn't work anymore. There is a method to make it working again?14KViews3likes20CommentsSymlink changes - Mac OS sync desktop to Dropbox broken
I have tons of working files on my Mac desktop which I need to access on iOS and this worked well with symlink between desktop and dropbox folder. With the recent change where symlinks don't sync folder content, I am stuck. Mac OS doesn't seem to allow the Desktop folder to be placed in Dropbox folder. Appreciate any tips!9.3KViews3likes10CommentsDo members of a shared folder get a notification that a file has been added?
I've shared a dropbox folder with 12 other people. If I upload a file to the folder, do I have to email everyone I shared the folder with or do they get a notification that a file has been added to the folder?Solved24KViews3likes12Comments
