How can I find the total number of files in a folder?
Boy, am I disappointed with Dropbox. I assumed that each folder would display the number of files in that folder, without me jumping through all kinds of hoops. This seems not to be the case, however... Did anyone come up with a nifty solution to this problem?Solved45KViews5likes25Comments

I can't figure out how to tag in Dropbox.
Hi! I am getting familiar with Dropbox because one of my clients uses it. We need to organize files by both folders and tagging. I can't figure out how to tag. All of my searches indicated Dropbox didn't support tagging in 2014 (!), and then maybe some support for desktop app and/or photos. I can't find anything for 2019 or 2020 other than coder stuff. Anyone who is not a coder able to tag files in Dropbox with cloud version? By the way, the forced labeling to submit this request doesn't make sense and there isn't a fit for files, folders, tags, or organizing so choosing all. 😞 Many thanks, Community and Dropbox suppport.Solved41KViews3likes6Comments
Camera upload from different phones into different folders
Hello, I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to. This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct? How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder? I've searched the Dropbox site repeatedly. Twice, they list the answer for How to transfer photos from iPhoto to Dropbox. But, I want to do the reverse! I've emailed Dropbox: No response. By mistake, my new macbook was linked to automatically receive my photos when my iPad or iPhone connected to my computer. I believe that I've rectified that for the future. Missing files after folder renaming.
Working on a brief that is due tomorrow. Time is of the essence. I changed the names of many files & folders containing court forms. Very tedious but had to be done. When I finished & now ready to work on those forms: THEY'RE ALL GONE! What? 1000s of court forms--simply disappeared. I finally stumbled online & figured out that, according to Dropbox, I deleted those folders & files. No way could I have accidently deleted so many files & folders! So, instead of working on my brief that is due tomorrow, I then had to figure out how to restore 1000s of files to my computer--still not sure I did it right--the interface was not overly user friendly--& wasted too many precious hours in the process--including writing this message. Just now, I finally got back to real work--I renamed a folder & AGAIN, it disappeared!! WTF? I do NOT want any fancy new features; I don't have time to figure out what local, online or smart sync means nor do I care. I just want everything to work like it always did. I cannot be wasting time being hijacked by features I didn't ask for nor do I want. I don't want a new learning curve. Don't ruin a good thing. The simplicity & reliability of Dropbox were its best features. Add all the new features you want but give us the option about whether or not we want those new features.
