WOPI Version of .xlsm files opening in Desktop App. Why is this happening?
Hello, With zero support from Dropbox Advanced support, I'm hoping as a community anyone can provide some guidance. I have a user in my organization who in the desktop app cannot open and edit xlsm files, no one else in our organization has this issue. According to ChatGPT, the file(s) and not corrupted and it is not a Microsoft issue. All xlsm files for this user are offline files. I employed autoruns and unchecked some Dropbox extensions to force open xlsm files as 'local' files without Dropbox trying to open the WOPI version, which is unusable. We have thousands xlsm files we use daily, and cannot nor should have to copy each file over to this users' desktop and copy them back to the desktop app as that is a huge waste of time. I'm confused why he is the only user that is impacted this way and hoping someone can provide some solutions so this user can use xlsm files in the desktop just like the rest of us. I want to edit and save my updated document to a new location, instead of auto-save.
I have a master document saved in Dropbox. I'm trying to open the document and make changes to it then save it as a new document in a different folder without saving the changes to the "master" document. My problem seems to be autosave as every time I make a change to the master, it auto saves, not allowing me to save to a new folder and keep the original as a master copy. I’m using a basic account on an iPad mini and have had no problems over the years opening and editing documents in word and excel. I recently switched to the newest model (7 with iOS 18.3.2), updated Dropbox, word and excel, restarted the tablet and am continuously being asked to activate Microsoft 365 to edit documents. I’ve tried just entering my Hotmail info which has worked in the past but it says subscription not found. My Dropbox account is showing in word on the left hand side as an other storage option and I can view and open all of my documents but can’t edit them. How can I fix this?

Hi I am trying to open an Excel workbook via Dropbox on my S24 Ultra so that it will save directly to it. I go through the log in process for Dropbox in Excel and I'm getting a message saying "Access blocked: Dropbox's request does not comply with Google's policies". I've tried add Dropbox directly in the app and I get the same message. Please help!
I can no longer open my Microsoft files via my Android mobile app. They throw all sorts of errors.
Please help, I am in a HUGE panic. As of this morning, my Android Microsoft mobile apps no longer open my more than 1000 Dropbox files. I cannot save a newly created Microsoft file to Dropbox either. I have always been able to open and save my Dropbox files in the Android Microsoft apps (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel , etc) on my Pixel 8. I can no longer open files. Here's the message I get when I try to open a Dropbox file from within Microsoft Word: "Can't open file. [file name] is stored in an unsupported server location." If I try to open a file from within Dropbox, I get an error message that reads, "Can't complete task. Something went wrong. Please try again." I was initially able to open files within M365 Copilot, but I just started receiving the same message and I can't view any of my files. When I tried to connect a different Dropbox account, I received a message that said, "Access blocked: dropbox's request does not comply with Google's policies." Please note that the apps are all updated. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the apps in addition to restarting my phone. Furthermore, my Pixel device is properly linked to my Dropbox account PLEASE HELP!!
I can't open my Microsoft files when they're set to online-only.
Hi All, I can't seem to open documents when they are saved on Dropbox. My files are set to online only. However, photos and other media does not have an issue. But office and pdf often encounter an issue where they don't open or the dialogue box just keeps loading. When I move files outside dropbox, they open just fine. Thank you for your help.The Dropbox plug in for Outlook remains greyed out, and content doesn't appear.
I have a new laptop on Win11 and I added the Dropbox plug-in for Outlook. But it remains greyed out and the folder that should appear on the left folder navigation is missing. I installed the local app and that seems to be working fine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, fully updated windows, the laptop, and the applications. Nothing seems to work.. I had wondered if it was due to my drop box being personal or if there was another issue. It was working correctly on my old system. Thanks
Desktop app on Windows doesn't display correctly. The pop up window looks duplicated.
In the app window when I try to select an icon at the top another duplicate but smaller window appears. The same issue occurs in other places (see 2nd screenshot). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but the same problem occurs. Does anyone know how to fix this?
