I used to have around 20GB of storage space in my basic plan, earned when I joined through different promotions. This was recently downgraded to 5GB with zero explanation. What triggered it was an unlinking of the business account. My macOS Dropbox app was connected to both my personal and work accounts, but my company recently decided to stop using Dropbox and deactivated the business account automatically. For some reason this triggered a decrease in my storage quota, as seen on https://www.dropbox.com/events. How do I get that storage back?27Views0likes6CommentsWhere are the files that are taking up my space?
Hello, I have some data on my Dropbox account and got the warning that my account had stopped syncing because the amount of data is above the free allowance. Great, I would like to access my data to at least look into it and delete what may be no longer necessary before being prompted to buy more storage. If I connect to my online account I see a series of folders with nothing in it, what is in there that is so big? I can't access anything, there is no option to contact anyone even to ask a simple question. Please let me know what I have to do, if I get no answer the easiest thing for me will be to delete the account and never use your services because I don't like to interact with entities I can not even contact to. This is not a request of support to ask "how to do" something: this is a real request to the company that has somewhere some data that originally was deposited by me and I want to know where (if any) still is and why it uses such a large storage space if I don't see any file. You should add the possibility for users to write to some contact of your company, I think it is required by local laws, it is extremely frustrating to be redirected to a help center with pre-answered questions or an automated chat with only fixed answers if what one needs to ask is not there. Hi Dropbox Community, Looking help. I read several post, and tried several things found on this post but my problem is still there. I’m encountering an issue with my storage space. I have a FREE account with 11.5 GB. I referred a few friends a long time ago and did everything possible at the time to increase my FREE account limit, so now it's set at 11.5 GB which I like very much, however I’ve deleted several files from my Dropbox several months ago, but my available storage space hasn’t updated. It still showing as 108% full. I removed Dropbox and folders from 4 other devices (PC and iOS), and removed the app from my WD My Cloud NAS. I’ve tried logging in and out, reviewing the account set-up and removed all the old apps that were sync (Bamboo Paper, pdfReader, Word, Excel, etc) and checking the deleted files folder, but the problem still persists. My limit is currently at 11.5 Gb, and I fear that if I delete my account, and try logging back in, I will find myself with the basic free 2GB which I don't want. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips or steps to get the storage space to update correctly? Thank you,Solved35Views0likes2CommentsWhy is my account out of quota now?
So I have been using Dropbox for years with no problems. All of a sudden, a message pops up that I am out of storage and that I am using 11.31 GB of 2 GB space and it stopped syncing my files. My free account had way more than 2 GB as evidenced by the fact that I was allowed to reach 11.31 at one point. Why all of a sudden am I out of storage? Seems like they lowered the storage space without notification. The minimum upgrade cost is $9.99 per month for 2,000 GB. I don't need that much and don't want to pay that amount when I only need a smaller amount of storage space.43Views0likes11CommentsMy referral quota has been reduced when I cancelled my Plus plan
I cancelled my Plus subscription. it shows I only have 20GB storage space now. but I should have more than 30GB actually before I subscribe the Plus plan with the all earned referral bonuses I got . what's going on? Also I created the ticket to query that before I cancel the subscription. and I can't even access that ticket to get the response after I cancelled the subscription. it's awful.Solved38Views0likes5CommentsFree storage of 30+GB now downgraded completely to 2gb after many years of not using it
Hi, I just checked my dropbox account after more than 4 years and I noticed that my basic account had 30+gb free space before from referrals but now it's reporting 2gb only. I checked my notification and it seems the downgrade started on Dec 2021 onwards. As far as I remember, the referral and other bonuses before should have been permanent. Can anyone from dropbox please revert my storage back? Btw I'm sure im only getting 2gb free now, not just the basic plan but the free storage itself as I'm already getting notification of out of storage54Views0likes2CommentsWhy do shared files count against my space use???
Why are files shared with me counted against my space usage? Is this data counted twice? If someone who is sharing files with me is paying for this space, why should I have to pay as well just to access it? I am out of space, I have no intention of buying more space, and yet, when someone shares some files with me, I cannot access them and I am forced to buy space in order to access them. Why is this? Thank you.Solved26KViews4likes144CommentsI'm over my storage limit but can't access my files to delete them
I have exceeded the storage limit for quite a while, but both the website and app will not allow me to access the files to delete them. How do I get to the files so I can delete and stop the emails trying to get me to upgrade? Thanks42Views0likes1CommentDropbox storage reduced from 17 GB
As an early adopter and through referrals and other promotions, I had 17 GB of storage. This morning I received a notification that I exceeded my 2GB storage allotment. It looks like I may have more than that, https://www.dropbox.com/events indicates that my storage was reduced to 6.75GB, but that is still 10 GB less than I had yesterday. What gives!?102Views0likes11Comments
