Device Lenovo Thinkpad P15v, Google Pixel 9 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 235.4.5905 Dropbox Plan Plus Question or Issue Hi folks, I'm collaborating on a project with a colleague and we're constantly uploading different files to several folders within a shared dropbox. The problem is I'm not seeing when they've added things to dropbox via the sharing activity notification panel that I usually use. For example, In the last 7 days it only says that they have edited a file of mine 2 hours ago, however I can see in our dropbox that they've added several new folders and files. This means I'm having to manually check all our folders for updated or new files which isn't ideal at all. Any ideas? I've tried quitting Dropbox and restarting already and can confirm all notification settings are set to 'on'. Thanks so much in advance!113Views0likes10CommentsOption to disable “This shared file is already synced to your device” popup
Hi Dropbox team, Is there any way to permanently disable the popup that appears when viewing a file via the browser which says: “This shared file is already synced to your device. Access this file in the desktop app to prevent duplicates and seamlessly edit with native applications.” It shows every time I open a synced file in my browser while the desktop app is running, and it disrupts my workflow, especially when I intentionally want to preview something in the browser or send a client a link. I understand the intention is to encourage using the desktop app, but for users who regularly switch between browser and app, this feels intrusive and unnecessary. A simple “Don’t show this again” checkbox or toggle in settings would be much appreciated. Thanks!101Views0likes2CommentsHow can I stop the desktop notification pop-up from showing up every time I click on a shared link?
Hello! I use Dropbox daily for work. I use both the online version for reference and the desktop version for everything else. Recently, this pop-up has appeared on my machine, and it's driving me insane! I see the option for one preference, but it's missing the "don't ask again" option. How can I prevent this pop-up from opening every time I click a link? Thank you in advance!162Views0likes3CommentsHow to disable clipboard content overwrite when taking screenshots?
I just found out that when taking a screenshot with Dropbox on Windows 10, Dropbox puts a share url into your clipboard. I would like to disable that feature. All I could find was a seven year old discussion of the problem for MacOS and the options mentioned there aren't available to me.Solved196Views0likes4CommentsVerifying email not working. It won't let me share content.
I have verified my email address multiple times and Dropbox will not let me share or copy a link and it keeps saying that I can't until my email address is verified. What can I do? I can't even chat with support because it says I have to verify my email address.1.3KViews2likes30CommentsNo individual or sharing activity details
In the past two weeks, I am now no longer to view any individual or sharing activity details. I know there is substantial activity but I no longer can view any which has made Dropbox overall much more difficult to use. I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1 All I see is a screen that says "here you'll find files or folders you've recently interacted with" although there is nothing in either my individual or sharing activity. It seems others are also reporting this having happened recently.68Views0likes1CommentTeam members receiving emails inviting them to edit the folders I uploaded
Morning All I have uploaded folders this morning and everyone within the Dropbox group have had an email from myself (via Dropbox) inviting them to edit said folder. This is the first time this has happened and my colleagues have made new folders after and no emails have been sent out. Support were less then helpful and I am sure it will be a silly setting I have hit my end, but could anyone please help? Thank youSolved6.6KViews0likes44CommentsDropbox sends messages to an email address that's not linked to any Dropbox account.
First, this Dropbox community doesn't seem to have the category I need to post this, so given I want to "delete" a email that's linked to my DropBox account, I'm putting it here. To start, I've had a DropBox account for 10-15 years but not a regular user. Second, I setup the account using a YAHOO email account. All has been fine until the past week. That's when I received a link to DropBox files from a friend. He and I communicate using my COMCAST email account, so naturally that's where he sent the DropBox link (to my Comcast email rather than Yahoo). I've received emails like this before from the same friend where he shares DropBox links and I access the files with my YAHOO account, so I had no thought about doing it again. Keep in mind though that I only use DropBox only once or twice a year. This time around, when I clicked the link DropBox then tried to setup a new-user account using my COMCAST email. Obviously I don't want a new account, nevermind with my Comcast email, so I never proceeded forward. Instead I tried signing in using my YAHOO email. However, because of cookies or whatever else, it seemed DropBox was having a problem understanding that. Eventually I saw a message that said DropBox was creating a link for my YAHOO email. I don't recall exactly how but able to access the files using my current DropBox account with my YAHOO email. I figured everything was normal. HOWEVER, since then I have been receiving DropBox messages to my COMCAST email EVERY DAY since. Yes, I have gone into my DropBox "Notifications" settings and unchecked every box except Alerts like "I'm running out of space", "A new browser was used to sign-in", etc. But that shouldn't apply anyways because not only are those settings for my YAHOO email, but I already had all those other notification options under "News" disabled. Nonetheless, before posting this I confirmed again anyways. For instance, today I received an email titled "Day 3 - Edit PDFs right in Dropbox" that was sent to my COMCAST email. Obviously that's a NEWS notification. But more importantly, I don't have a DropBox account setup with my COMCAST email. So why is DropBox sending messages to my COMCAST email? Moreover, how can I make these stop?? Worse yet, why is it so difficult to address a problem that DropBox itself created?? Sheesh, what a hassle.1.3KViews0likes6CommentsBranding (teams): Allowing both customization on a member level and a company logo
I'd love if member branding and team branding options could be enabled simultaneously, and not mutually exclusive as they are currently. My wife and I are a two person team on a Dropbox Advanced plan. We work for the same company (which we own) but prefer our own personal branding (our own picture etc. for Transfers and shared links). It all works fine when sharing links from within our designated member folders, however, when I share a link to a file that resides in our shared team space/directory (i.e. outside of our member folders) the branding on that link is always my wife's picture and background image. It would be amazing if files shared from member folders could have member branding AND files shared from our root team directory could have our company/team branding. Currently, Admin Console forces you to choose EITHER member branding or team branding. It would be so helpful to have team AND member branding enabled simultaneously, simply based on the file directory and/or logged in user who created the link or transfer. Thanks!634Views0likes2CommentsEmail notifications not sending out when Dropbox file is modified
I am uploading audio files to a shared Dropbox folder. Each team member and the owner (myself) all have Folder/Activity/Follow/ have "Files Added" "Files Deleted" and "As Activity Occurs" all checked off. All of us have in our Settings/Personal Account/Notifications/ all have "Activity in Shared Folders (weekly digest) "Viewer Activity on Tracked Files (daily digest) and "All new viewer activity (real time) checked off. So I have been uploading a file and then I might modify that file, I might make an edit, but the file stays the same name and length. Or I might change the suffix of the file but keep it the same. Whenever I make changes like that everyone's Folder shows them that the file was changed but emails DO NOT get sent out. The only time anyone in the group gets an email is when a file is added or deleted. Now of course that makes since the only options in the shared folder notifications are about deleting and adding but a Dropbox support staff told me that any type of modification would trigger an email. If they had it on "immediate" then they normally receive an email in about 10 minutes. Sometimes less and sometimes more. One of the people on the folder has a free account and one has a basic account and the exact same thing is happening with them both so it's a tiered plan issue. I just think that the email does not trigger with a modification. It really should. So if someone knows how to make this happen or if I'm doing something wrong I'd love to know what to fix or change. Or, if someone knows that emails do not trigger from just modifications I'd like to know that as well. Also, do I need something like Zapier to make what I want happen? thanks692Views0likes2Comments
