By the way, almost every russian client get file download, but receiving 0 bytes, error to download and somehow file name is file.pdf in downloads, but in dropbox is other name, something like Привет.pdf. I’ve tested it by my own and there is no problems. It opens in android and ios in different browsers. For the company I work for, I created a shared DropBox folder back in 2013. I setup a Bitly shortened link for it so that anyone with this link can download and copy from our DropBox. They can not edit or upload. I will not post post the link here. Today I clicked the Bitly link and got a DropBox error page. I logged into Bitly, found the shortcut, and copied the original DropBox URL it was pointing to and tried it directly. Same error, so I CAN'T blame Bitly. The DropBox error says: -------------------\ You don't have access You can ask the person who shared the link to invite you directly. Just so you know, you're signed in as xxxxx@xx.com. ---------------------/ The email address on the error is the one I use to log into DropBox. My profile icon is on the top-right of the page showing me I'm logged in. I am the only admin. I can click my icon and get to my home page and access the shared folder without problem. But no matter what browser I use, incognito mode or not, I can not get to the share to work directly. I tried using an alternate shortcut using a different shortening service that I had created in recent years. That worked! I logged into that service and got the DropBox URL is was pointing to and compared it to the non-working one. The DropBox URL that worked is about twice as long as the one from 2013 that doesn't work. The one that worked is in the form of a query sting with "?" and "&" characters. The one that is broke is just a string of characters and forward slashes. So, what changed on DropBox that the old share URL doesn't work? Is there anyway to get it to work?35Views0likes2CommentsMy shared links won't copy to my clipboard on the web browser.
Device (Macbook Pro 2021) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (macOS 15.7.2 / Safari 18.6) Question or Issue Using Safari web browser on my Macbook, when creating a share link to a file or folder, even though it says the link has copied, it will not paste into an email or anything else. I've even tried to opening the standard Text Edit app and pasting as plain text. It just comes up blank. I've tried right clicking on the 'copy link' but that just pastes the folder path as the URL with with a # on the end (no permissions code). The clipboard on the mac also shows as blank after it copies. It wipes off anything I previously copied from the clipboard, so it's clearly trying to do something, but no link is actually being copied. So even though I can create the share link, I have no way of getting it on my laptop. The only thing that has changed recently is that I upgraded my OS to 15.7.2 on 17 Nov, along with the browser version. But I have shared a file the day after I upgraded. I've also tried other web browsers and I'm having the same issue. Other things will copy and paste fine in other apps and websites. Only having the issue with Dropbox. It works fine on the phone app. No issues there. Just in the web browser. That'll be my temporary solution for now is to create it on the phone app and send it to myself. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks Sean107Views0likes9CommentsSmaller Pop Ups on Smaller Screens
I regularly share folders with clients and people I'm collaborating with. Especially folks within corporate organizations usually have now dropbox account and are working on smaller screens or laptops. Opening a dropbox link on that confronts you with at least 3 pop ups or bars for logging in, which all stand in the way of the content I want to share. Similarly for the banner on top for which I integrated my branding. As it's a relative banner that scrolls with the content, using it on a smaller screen means that it's in the way of the content and files.Solved174Views1like5CommentsI'm getting an error that my sharing activity has been interrupted due to a phishing attempt.

Device (Acer Nitro 5) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11) Dropbox App Version (if using the app) Syncing Status ("Up to date") Question or Issue I linked a large mp4 video file (2:04:00, 8.6 GB) and the recipient tells me that it stopped at 2:00:08. The 8.6 GB is well under the file size limit, but is there a time limit on viewing? Is there something else I should be doing? I have it set up in file manager for view only and not to be downloaded.Solved101Views0likes5CommentsCannot remove sharing restriction from my Dropbox account.
I have received an email for the third time saying I have been banned from sharing for exceeding bandwidth limit. I had no idea such a restriction existed. I have a basic Dropbox account, but have built up a capacity of 13.2Gb owing to hardward deals I have bought in the past that has increased my allowance. I have used 8.31Gb of space, so loads of headroom. I only usually share a couple of folders with friends and this has worked continually quite happily for years. These folders are about 1.6Gb. For some reason I am now getting this ban for sharing. I have gone into Dropbox online and removed every old sharing link I can find; it has no effect. I cannot unban the account on the link, just get a message saying 'something's gone wrong. Contact support', which I can't do on the basic plan. Advice please on how to remove the ban and share within the allowance. Thanks!83Views0likes5CommentsA new folder I created says it doesn't have an owner when I try to share it
Dropbox Plan Plus Are you a Team Member or Admin? No. I own the account. There is no Admin, and there are no Team Members Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Not that I'm aware of. Question or Issue I created a new folder. It is not within another folder - when I click All Files, it shows at that level. Then I tried to Share it and I got the message below. I've never encountered this problem before when creating folders. What have I done wrong, and how can I create a new folder that I can share?53Views0likes4Comments
