Hi. I hardly ever use Dropbox but I might have a new need for it. However, I have to clear most of what's already in my account to make enough space. One thing that's on my list of Files is a Folder shared with me by someone else. I don't want it - but it's a "shared" folder. If I delete it from my side, does that delete it everywhere? I don't want to deny it to anyone else; I just need it out of my way. Thanks --Solved442Views0likes4CommentsSpring Clean your Desktop with Dropbox 🌸

Hi I dare say this has been asked before, I couldn't find a topic/thread. I am using DB to store an Access Database. This could be accessed by 3 or 4 people remotely who I've shared it with. The data could well have changed. When the office staff come in the following day, I need my C# windows app to checked the Server.ModifiedDate of database on Dropbox against its counterpart held locally, if the Dropbox version is newer then copy the dropbox one to local. At the end of the session, then to copy the local version to dropbox. Simples! Yes? I realise there are other questions about preventing access when one persons is using the database etc etc. I just wanted to get past first base, so to speak. Any pointers would be gratefully received. Thanks TonySolved195Views1like3CommentsPicdrop style image review integrated with Dropbox.
We use our dropbox for getting image selects on large batches of images. We find out clients dislike using dropbox for this process (unless they already use DB but most dont) and have been pushing us to use picdrop (picdrop.com) instead as they find it much more user friendly. Annoyingly this means we're then copying our folders into picdrop and then selects back to dropbox. Id love to be able to have dropbox function like this. it would save us a lot of time and errors. Would this sore of quick thumbnails style image review be helpful for anyone else: photographers/filmmakers/moodboard people?364Views0likes2CommentsKeynote powerpoint presentation not present on Dropbox.
Keynote powerpoint prevention was shared with a friend through DropBox. Now when I try to "open recent" in my Keynote app, I get a message: The document “Vietnam Revisited” could not be opened. The volume “ED BENES” couldn’t be mounted. Then I get a message telling me to mount the volume. I tried going through settings and security but nothing works. What the heck is a "volume" anyway? I'm waiting to see if my friend still has it on his computer and can send it back to me but he's traveling for a few days. Maybe someone here can help me as I've been asked to give another presentation and I'd hate to have to recreate a PowerPoint to do so. Thanks.Solved1.8KViews1like5CommentsWhere are shared files?
I wish to create a shared file that could be updated by two people. Where does that file exist? Is it my hard drive, the other party's hard drive, the cloud, or all three? What happens if my device is switched off, and the other party updates the file? Will I know as soon as I log in?1.6KViews1like2Comments500 on Approving Request Access to Shared link with invite only option

I'm currently building an app for users to get access to confidential data. I like users authorized through our portal to be able to download files from our business dropbox account without the need to create a dropbox account. Ideally they'd be granted some token through the portal that allows them to access a particular set of files or a particular folder, and when they click a button in our portal the files would be downloaded to their browser. Is this possible? All the guides I've read imply the only way to do this is if the user has a dropbox account. Is it possible to do this without one?Solved1.1KViews0likes1CommentDirect link for file download
Hello All, I am new here and new to Dropbox integration. In my application we use chooser to select the files from end-user's dropbox account. When the user selects a file, the response contains a download url which is something like this - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/1/view/uziu191sh0ilvkq/Get%20Started%20with%20Dropbox.pdf Now my problem is that, if this request is intercepted by someone and they change this url, it lets user to upload the the file from other source. This is wrong behaviour. I want to restrict user to upload files only from Dropbox. So wanted to know if the domain name used in above example ("dl.dropboxusercontent.com") will always be same irrespective of end-user's country. If this domain is same we can match this as a pattern in backend and discard all other requests. Has anyone faced this kind of problem before and any help on how to solve it would be helpful. Thank you in advance.3.6KViews0likes8Comments
