Shared Files
17 TopicsView shared photos as a gallery
When I share a Dropbox link to a folder with photographs, the web link is not optimized for photo viewing on any platform (phone or desktop). The thumbnails are too small and compressed. And on a phone's web browser, users can swipe through individual photos, but it requires two separate taps, thereby quickly becoming cumbersome. I am suggesting the idea to have Dropbox photo folders appear as a dynamic, tiled gallery, much like on a dedicated iOS or Android app. Google Drive's photo gallery is a great example of how to implement such a feature on Dropbox.29Views0likes3CommentsComment without Login
I'm sharing photos and videos, as well as production documents with clients and love to get their feedback on the specific file. However, many companies prohibit employees from generating their own Dropbox account, which is needed to comment on the files. How about just having to "sign up" with their Name and Email in order to get notifications? Would love to have an easier way to share files with clients and get their feedback as simple as possible.95Views1like1CommentPersistent Indicator for Files with Unresolved Comments
Currently, Dropbox shows a comment notification only when a comment is new or unread. Once the comment is read, the indicator disappears even if the comment is not resolved. This makes it hard to see which files still require attention. I would like Dropbox to introduce a persistent visual indicator (badge, icon, number, highlight, or any small marker) that appears whenever a file has unresolved comments, regardless of whether they have been read already. Why this matters: Teams use comments for review and approvals. After reading a comment, there is no quick way to see that the file still needs action. Users must open each file and check the comments panel to find unresolved comments. This leads to missed feedback and slower collaboration. How it could work: Show a small badge next to the file name in the file list when unresolved comments exist. In the file preview, show a subtle âunresolved commentsâ indicator even if all comments are read. User impact: This would help teams working with shared documents by making outstanding work visible at a glance, reducing mistakes and speeding up reviews.69Views1like1CommentShared Color Tags / Visual Labels in Shared Folders
It would be extremely useful if color tags or file highlights could be made visible to all collaborators in a shared Dropbox folder. Many teams rely on visual cues for workflow, and this would reduce confusion and improve coordination. Please consider enabling this feature across shared folders â similar to how macOS tags or Google Drive priority labels work.155Views1like5CommentsI'd like to be able to change the permissions on all shared links at the same time.
import a feature that changes the permissions of all the shared links simultaneously I'm having a hard time changing the validity of each link, and it's really tiring. This feature would be a miracle for me, it would make things easier. I want all the links. Anyone with the link can watch the video, but unfortunately some links are team-only, and I have to change their validity for whoever has the link. I hope you make this feature available. I have thousands of links, and I have to change them all, and it's very tiring.257Views7likes6CommentsPassword-protected links should allow direct download without login or register
When I share a file or folder and create a password-protected link, it would be great if, when someone opens it, and want to download, they arenât asked to log in or register â clicking the download button should simply download the file.54Views1like2CommentsTo be able to right click and search through tags.
I'm an Evernote user from the early days. Tagging items has been something I'm accustomed to for a long time. I'm bummed that Dropbox isn't taking full advantage of these. They are not easy to get to in the web interface at all. I count at least 3 clicks, and none of those clicks are "Tag..." Once something is tagged... am I just missing something? It's not evident at all. They aren't distinguished in a "bubble" or "block", color coded, and no option exists in the sidebar. I also cannot add the tags to my visible column set (also really lacking area). The only place I've discovered that tags actually exists in the web interface is under the search bar - but not at all where I would expect to see them in the application.238Views2likes6Comments
