I upgraded to the Professional plan to have my share options be very restrictive. To send files with no access to download, have a password, and an expiration date. I'm also the only person allowed to manage the folder. I uploaded my docs and created the folder. I then managed all this in the permissions. I sent it to a person, and they had download and share access AND they were not asked to put in the password. WHY are these permissions I set up not working? Please HELP! What am I missing here? I will cancel the plan, if this isn't going to work. Let me know, thank you.90Views0likes7CommentsCan't access shared link. Getting an error that the link has been deleted.
I have been trying to open a dropbox link shared to me. This is a link that was sent by somebody to the person who sent it to me; they have just passed it on. They can access and use the files on the link, but I cannot. Originally I was sent a HTML file in which I can see the files and press the links to open the individual files, but then I get the following error: 'You don't have access. You can ask the person who shared the link to invite you directly.' I have now been passed on the exact link that was sent to the person who sent it to me, who again can open the files fine. I get the following error: 'This link has been deleted. The owner of this link has deleted or disabled this link. You cannot access it at this time.' I think is the more important error to consider as the html file may cause permission errors etc. I have tried everything on Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome and have logged into two different accounts and tried being logged out too. If I am not logged in, and I remove anything past 'rlkey' in the link, it tells me that I can sign up for free and that to keep the file secure it needs to confirm my identity, with the name of the folder included etc. I think possibly as well as being sent the link, the original person may have been added directly to the folder? However if I donât have access, why does the link tell me itâs been deleted when the other person can still access it right now. They have told me this is all they have been sent. This link is being emailed to many people every month as it is a work resource for a tour. Any help is much appreciated165Views0likes2CommentsNeed help my public links got suspended due to excessive traffic.

Recently, access to shared files started requiring an extra verification code from the admin every single time. Before, opening the shared link from email was enough and things worked smoothly. Now it adds unnecessary delays, especially when the admin isnât immediately available, and it makes the process frustrating for less technical users. If thereâs a way to disable this requirement or simplify access again, Iâd really appreciate the guidance.54Views0likes3CommentsHow can I share a simple Word file with read only access?
I'm struggling to do something that should be very simple. I have a Word doc that I want to be able to share with people. I don't want them to be able to edit MY copy, but I want them to have their OWN copy that they can edit in Word. How do I accomplish this in Dropbox? I also have a .pdf file that I need to share with people, but that one, they just need to be able to read and save a copy. Hi all, I have a PDF presentation I constantly update, after I've shared the link with clients. But I want the same link to keep working for them. One workaround I sometimes use is sharing the containing folder (and updating the file inside) but many people find this confusing. Is there a way to keep the same link for an updated file? Thanks, Federico49Views0likes2Comments
