Support send to iPad/iPhone in preview markup
Normally when I take screenshots on my mac I can send the image to my iPad and markup the image on my iPad (without needing to save the image to my iPad). I find this really useful as I can markup my screenshots with Apple Pencil. It would be super handy if Dropbox screenshot markup supported this also.42Views1like1Comment
Files/folders added from another device failed to appear in the Files app on my iPad
native files.app integration is still downright dangerous. When files/folders added to Dropbox from another device failed to appear on my iPad, I tried numerous remedies (none of which worked) culminatinig in reinstalling the Dropbox app and then clearing the cache under "Files.app settings". Clearing the cache resulted in the more recently added folders and their contents being deleted from my Dropbox, even though they were uploaded from a different device. The integration evidently concluded that, since they weren't on my iPad, they didn't belong in the cloud either.84Views0likes1Comment
Can't add Dropbox as a place on a Microsoft Office app on Android tablet
Microsoft wont add Dropbox as a place I use dropbox on Desktop and Apple devices with a different account. It works fine with excel to save documents. For the last 6 months my android devices have worked great as well. However, recently, when trying to save an edited excel document that Iâve opened with dropbox on my android device, it does not give me the option to save the document to Dropbox folders once Iâve edited and click âsave asâ. After clicking âadd a placeâ then Dropbox, and then signing in, it loads and takes me back to excel, yet it still doesnât show up. No error message, just isnât an option. Click add a place again, and can click dropbox as an option again, sign in, ect. Itâs an endless loop. I have tried uninstalling both apps, disconnecting Microsoft and excel from the dropboxâs connected apps, other troubleshooting. nothing working so far. Renaming files on the Android app adds a "-1" to the filename and removes their extension.
Device Lenovo Tab P12 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 15 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 440.2.4 When I try to rename a file, I see a second line which adds "-1" to my new file, doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get rid of it. Not only it does not make sense, but it has corrupted so many of my files as very often it rewrites also the extension, so when trying to rename documnet.pdf, it will rename it either document-1.pdf or even worse to document-1 NO EXTENSION. Then I have to download the file to my tablet, open it via my local file explorer, add ".pdf" extension and then I can use it. Today I upload a WORKING pdf file to dropbox, and without renaming it, it removed the extension, so I was unable to send it via email or whatsapp to other people, I couldn't do anything with it, and the worst thing is that I cannot do such an easy job as rewriting the FULL name of the file whatsoever as this app for a very strange reason doesn't allow rewriting the extensions for me I know I am not the only one, because recently a pdf file was shared in a group chat of my colleagues and nobody was able to open it after downloading it (whole thing was outside dropbox), when I donwloaded it it was called "file.-1" , I asked the person if she uses dropbox and she confirmed, but she didn't know that your program can corrupt our files.Solved414Views0likes11Comments
I'm seeing a weird exclamation mark next to Dropbox on Xmind on my iPad.
Hello, My Dropbox app on iPad is not syncing with my Windows 11 desktop. For example, when I open a mind mapping software that I use (Xmind) and try to open a mind map that I saved in Dropbox desktop: beside the Dropbox icon, there is a circle formed by two arrows with an exclamation point inside of the circle. I cannot find any information in Dropbox support files on this specific icon. I am guessing it is indicating some sort of sync issue. Ich nutze die Dropbox Passwords App auf dem Windows Rechner im Chrome, funktioniert hervorragend. Auf meinem iPad und auf meinem iPhone ist die app installiert und auch verbunden. Ich kann in der App meine Passwörter sehen. Ich habe in den Einstellungen die App ausgewĂ€hlt und automatisch ausfĂŒllen aktiviert. Die App ist geöffnet. Allerdings wird weder auf dem iPhone noch auf dem iPad irgendetwas automatisch ausgefĂŒllt, weder bei der Anmeldung in einer beliebigen App, noch auf Websites im Safari Browser. Hi there. Whenever I use Pages on my iPad for word processing and the file itâs using is sourced from Dropbox Iâm getting multiple conflicted copies generated. It feels like 1 every 5 minutes or whenever the program auto-saves so 30 minutes of writing will generate multiple conflicted copies in my Dropbox folder. IPad App - Offline Excel files wonât open without internet connection
Hi there, when I click an offline excel (or any MS file) in the iPad Dropbox app, I get an error saying âCanât open Excelâ and that I can view the preview of the file but not open/edit it.
