Files in my file app are suddenly Password Protected & I can't edit them, using my iPad.
Hello. I am accessing my dropbox files in the Files App on my iPad, iPadOS 17.4.1. They were working fine until this morning, and now my files, when I try to edit them with my Apple Pen, are asking for a password. I did not set the password. There were no Apple updates or Dropbox updates last night. Files from iCloud and other apps do not have this problem, just DropBox. I can access and edit the dropbox files from my Mac (with no password), but not my iPad. I have been on the phone with support from my bank b/c they were bank statements, but the bank never puts passwords on downloaded statements. I also contacted Apple and we did a number of different things. Finally, she realized that the only files with the problem were Dropbox. I'm not sure if something happened last night, but suddenly things are different. I am grateful for and appreciate any information people can give me.
Text Editor no longer usable free in Files App
Suddenly have this major problem: I cannot work on text files in my iPad FILES app. Can't open, move, copy, whatever. I get the messages shown in the attached screenshots. I sure don't want to pay £50 a year to be able to work with downloaded text files. I had always (many years?) assumed this was a built-in facility, but looks like it's a commercial 'extension' of some sort called Text Editor + ?All my Clip Studio Paint files reverted to versions from weeks ago
Hello, Just today I opened up Clip Studio Paint to find that all of the drawings I was currently working on to be reverted back to their versions from weeks ago. I lost all of my progress. I tried to rewind them but it doesn't even show activity past the 29th of November for some of these files now, even though I was working on them and saving them yesterday. I have no idea how to get them back.
Simple Drag and Drop on iPad app to move files
Ok - I’m on the Dropbox Plus on Ipad. I collect a LOT of images that I’m continuously moving from one folder to another within Dropbox. Generally it’s great - I just Drag it to the appropriate folder and it moves over! Awesome! BUT … when I need to go back (even a single level) in the file tree - I have to go through the whole ‘move’ process … and navigate from scratch to find the folder it is in! * HOW DO I drag UP - so it goes to the previous folder?? * OR See the File Tree in Columns (like in the Files App - which unfortunately has a host of other limitations Alternatively - are there settings or add-ins that can: * have a list of favourite folders as a starting point that you can GO TO - as opposed to the automatic ‘recent folders’ list - which go to that exact folder (it just ‘chucks the file in’) Any ideas would be fantastic My current work-around: * Yes - the search feature when moving is a huge blessing, but I’m sorting hundreds of images into different categories * Sometimes I just save it back to Photos, and re-drag it to the correct spot on my next sorting round. * I’ve yet to try using Dropbox and Files apps in Split screen - I’ll try that next. but am I missing something blatantly obvious?
