Can't Open a Dropbox link sent to me. What can I do?
I am trying to obtain a retirement interview video file that the sender can open with their link and drop box account, but the file cannot be opened by me at my end. I do not know if it is a firewall issue, but I can't open the link on my end? I get a response saying it is a "local file" and it cannot be opened. Dropbox says another user is viewing/editing a file, but he is not.
When I open some of my company's Excel files, Dropbox's badge indicates my coworker is viewing and/or has unsaved changes. But looking at his PC, he doesn't have Excel open and the Excel lock files are not in the directory with the original files. Any suggestions?Solved9.4KViews1like14Comments
hyperlinks in a file located within a shared folder do not open when opened by others
I uploaded a folder from my network to a shared dropbox folder. The folder uploaded contains branch files to support the hyperlinks I created . Within my dropbox folder, If I click on the hyperlinks they work/open. Once I send out a link of my dropbox folder to be share with someone, the hyperlinks within the folder files do not work/open for the recipient . IPhone X Videos Shot in High Efficiency (HEIC) Format are Blank with Sound
There are other similar threads about this but I'm starting a new one because this issue is still not fixed and it should be becasue users rely on Dropbox to serve their most precious information - family photos and video 🙂 When backing up the iOS photo library to Camera Uploads any video shot using the High Efficiency (HEIC) format in iOS cannot be played on the web or any HTML5 player. There is sound but no video. If I was to copy the same video from my iPhone directly to my computer the video is able to be played so the issue is during the Camera Uploads process. I have built desktop applications that allow users to browse their entire Dropbox directory, play and share videos and now their libraries (including mine) are full of blank videos. The link automatically generated by dropbox says the name of the folder is the former name, Diligence December 2020!
