Viewable tags next to folders/files when you try to preview them.
Hello Dropbox team 👋 I would really really love to be able to see tags appear besides the name of the files in any view, or folder, and on the mobile app, web version, and desktop app. Just a nice coloured tag left to the star icon would be wonderful. Yes, I know at Dropbox you are not a big fan of small, seemingly unnecessary cutomizations that don't serve an immediate and measurable purpose, but making customers happy is very important (here by improving UI and UX significantly and seemlessly for a small amount of time and effort). I'm sure the intern could figure it out in three days. Also if you are hyper motivated you can add a filter for tags to sort files (but NOT necessary, making them visible and coloured is already a great improvement). Here is what I imagine when I say tags: For colours you can do just like in Notion, where you can choose from pre-determined colours:
Stop tool-tip popups from appearing on the website
This pops up EVERYTIME the page reloads on browser. I move, copy, rename, restore, etc. it reappears. I get it, I know I can do that. This and a few others in different pages keep reappearing as if I'm a new user or something. Someone please tell me how to disable these.
“Failed to download folder” error when trying to download content from a shared link.
Hi Dropbox Support, I’m reaching out for assistance regarding an issue I’ve encountered while trying to download folders that were shared with me. Despite having a Dropbox Professional account, I’m repeatedly receiving a “Failed to download folder” error—even when the folder only contains 2 small files. I’m aware of the 20,000-item and 20 GB download limits, but the folders I’m attempting to download are well below that threshold. Could you please advise what might be causing this error and how I can successfully download the shared folders? Thank you in advance for your support.
Bring amoled dark mode
Please bring an AMOLED true black dark mode to Dropbox. The current dark theme is more grayish, which doesn't take full advantage of OLED displays. A true black background will save battery and be easier on the eyes, especially during night usage. Many apps already support this - would love to see Dropbox implement it too!
The 'download' button on the web fails or is unresponsive but only for one shared folder
I just got sent a shared folder. I keep hitting the 'download folder' and it is non responsive like I haven't clicked anything at all. I try individual files and those give me a notice 'failed to download'. No reason why. All other folders I have access to are responsive, only seems to be this folder. I've cleared cache and cookies which did not fix the issue.I can't rename a folder by clicking the pencil icon on the Dropbox website.
When I go to rename a folder by clicking the new pencil icon, the folder name is fully selected but I cannot unselect it. For example: I want to change the name of a folder. I click the pencil icon and click in the place where I want to make a change. The field flashes, but the text remains selected and I can't change the name.
