Issues with Uploading Large HD Videos to Dropbox
Hi Dropbox Support Team, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been facing persistent issues when uploading large HD videos to Dropbox, and it’s been impacting my workflow significantly. Here’s what I’m experiencing: Slow Upload Speeds: Even on a high-speed internet connection, the upload process for large files (several hundred MBs to a few GBs) is extremely slow and often takes much longer than expected. Failed Uploads: Occasionally, uploads fail halfway through, forcing me to restart the process from scratch, which is both time-consuming and frustrating. Sync Interruptions: When uploading through the Dropbox desktop app, the sync sometimes pauses or stops entirely without any clear reason. I’ve ensured that: My Dropbox app and browser are up to date. I have more than enough available storage in my Dropbox account. My internet connection is stable and not being used for other bandwidth-heavy tasks during uploads. Despite these precautions, the issues persist. Are there specific settings I should adjust, or best practices for handling large video files? Can we get the blue-folder thumbnails back?
I am bringing back this issue since Dropbox closed my priginal post one from 2 years ago (even though it was still getting comments and replies)..... Dropbox, please allow users to choose the plain blue folders for folder thumbnails. The photo-collage folder thumbnails are distracting and randomly irrelevant to folder content. Is there a way to disable the entirely unnecessary and unhelpful line numbering when viewing text files? I don't need it and I don't want it. Why on earth was that added? I love Dropbox but they really need to stop springing surprise features on customers and allow us to opt-in. Some of the interface changes lately have been a huge nuissance and I've had to waste a bunch of time figuring out how to roll them back or disable them.
The filenames of a folder that another user shared with me appear truncated.
When I go to a folder that some one shares with me it gives me a list where the file names are cut off. I end up having to either download the whole thing or look through files one by one to tell if it's a certain file extension or another. There is enough room on the page where the full file name should be able to display or I should be able to resize the columns to show the file name. It seems unnecessarily formatted in a way that causes me regular confusion and frustration.
Chat support -- how can I access it?
I have dropbox plus. and it says I have chat support. 9-5. do you know what time zone? is today holiday? will I be able to ask for support later? is that access thru support option? I don't even see the support email. It says I can also have email or chat support!
Option to go back to a specific time, not just a date in Dropbox Rewind
I love the rewind feature, it has saved me multiple times but it's usability is horrible. I use dropbox as my working folder for development work, so in a matter of minutes there can be thousands of modified files. If I want to rewind to let's say one hour earlier, this is practically impossible. The only option right now is to scroll though the list of modified files in the rewind side panel, few files at a time, it takes so long to do this that the only option is to rewind to an earlier day. Why can't there simply be an option to select a time to rewind to? Its incredible how such simple features are not obvious to the drobox user interface developers
