My files aren't syncing. Is my app connected to the right account?
I am a new employee to a company. The previous employee had a dropbox acct on the same computer that I use, however my files are not syncing with the other team members for the company. When I open preferences below is the dropbox folder location which is that of the previous employee. How can I resolve this issue?
Space unavailable when trying to access a shared folder. Is my quota not enough?
Dropbox Plan Basic 2gb I have a brand new Dropbox account with nothing saved in it so completely empty. My employer at work is trying to share with me her work Dropbox account which still has space available. However when I click the link it flashes up that I don't have enough space to access the files. Surly I don't need to be on a business account as well to be able to get to them?
I can't switch accounts on my Mac Mini
I have a M4 Mac Mini that is using the wrong DropBox account but I can't figure out how to switch it to the correct one. My PC is using the correct one and it is up to date with all files but my Mac Mini will not allow me to change my account. I have followed the directions to sign out of the wrong account but when I am automatically taken to the DropBox website it doesn't allow me to change my account to the correct one. It automatically assumes I want to sign into the incorrect one. What do I do?
Can I log in to my account without my authenticator app or backup codes?
Question or Issue I have 2 dropbox accounts. For my second drop box account (where I have a plus plan), I am not able to log in as I am in a loop of verifications that I am unable to do. I do not have the authenticator app, and I don't have my backup codes. Is there no other way to log in? When I contact support they tell me to do a bunch of things that don't exist when you aren't able to log in. Are my files lost? To make matters worse, I pay for drop box and I can't get into my account. There has to be a way to help people who lost their backup codes and whose phone number doesn't seem to be in their profile. I tried to log in on desktop app, phone app etc., but doesn't work as I'm stuck in this loop! Help! BetinaHow can I protect my Dropbox files, when my laptop needs service?

Yes Question or Issue For the first time since I bought my first PC in 1985 or so, I'm having to leave my computer with a tech support company, briefly, and I want to make sure that they can't access any of my files. I plan to move my files to an external drive and remove them from my laptop - but what do I do about my Dropbox files? I currently auto-sync files between my laptop and dropbox's "cloud" - how do I make sure that the tech can't see any of the data in any of my Dropbox files?

Context: After I separated from my ex-husband, I changed my Dropbox password and checked that folders were not shared with him. I did not realize that two of his devices were still linked, and that Dropbox (unlike every other app I have ever used) would not require devices to sign in with the new password. He recently sent me texts showing that he had access to my files and had viewed some highly personal information and photos. I found the security tab that confirmed two devices were linked and he had accessed my Dropbox. I immediately deleted those devices from my account. However, now I am trying to confirm if he viewed or downloaded anything. Because the devices were linked, Dropbox sees them as "me" so doesn't show another person viewing them. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Feeling pretty vulnerable right now.
Automatic logout
I think it would be great and very secure if dropbox logged out automatically after a period of time - decided by the owner of the account (for example after 1, 2 or x minutes) - when no actions have been made on it. This would prevent other user from using the account if the owner unadvertedly got away from the pc and left his account open. Thank you
"Invalid Key Material Type" error in Beyond Compare 5
A number of people on the Beyond Compare Forum (Scooter Software) are reporting problems with the subject error when trying to access their Dropbox accounts using Beyond Compare. I first ran into the error about a couple weeks ago and it goes away at times and then comes back. This last occurrence seems to have started on the 27th and I ran across it the next day. Application Affected Beyond Compare 5 access to Dropbox Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Linux Mint 22.3 The screenshot below id from back on the 15th but the same problem is occurring now. The people at Scooter Software indicate that they have not changed anything with BC5.
