When you use Dropbox desktop app on Windows and enable the option; "Save screenshots to Dropbox" a thumbnail of a screenshot appears at the corner of the screen when a screenshot is taken. This popup needs to be manually closed if you want to take another screenshot. There should be an option in the Preferences to prevent the popup.371Views0likes7CommentsCopying the Dropbox version info in the preferences window
The Dropbox VERSION info on the Preferences Window should be SELECTABLE and made so that I can COPY it into the System Clipboard so I don't have to manually enter it when submitting a request like this. Better yet, place a "copy" icon next to it that will copy it into the clipboard for you.250Views1like3CommentsScroll through photos in fullscreen mode on Android devices
Currently, it's not possible to scroll through photos smoothly in the app on Android devices. This limits usability, especially when browsing photo collections. I suggest implementing a swipe or scroll feature that allows users to navigate between photos seamlessly, simular to galleri apps. This would greatly improve the user experience for photographers and others who manage visual content in the Dropbox app. Thank you for considering this improvement.148Views4likes6CommentsSearchability of media content: Efficient evaluation of videos, photos and audio files
It would be desirable to make the content of videos, photos and audio files searchable. We have customers in the music industry with extensive video archives (for example, concert recordings from the last 20 years). The ability to search all videos for specific scenes or content, for example for a compilation of a band's 20th anniversary, would make work much easier. This function could easily be transferred to other industries, such as advertising agencies looking for content in their archive for a showreel, or video productions sifting through the raw material for video editing. Example search term: man eating ice cream Result: Dropbox searches certain videos for all scenes in which a man is eating ice cream.124Views0likes3CommentsPDF Bookmarks access
It would be so very helpful to be able to access pdf bookmarks. Our Board of Directors often has a large packet of materials and we use DropBox to store the file for viewing. We prefer DropBox because we can create a link that is not downloadable. However, navigating 1,000 pages is challenging, and bookmarks are so much friendlier and easier than hyperlinks to pages/sections. Especially because I haven't quite figured out the easiest way to add a "back to top" to all pages, in the blink of an eye. I have a very limited time to create my board packet, adding docs at the last minute, or replacing pages even after sent to the board. Bookmarks just work BETTER. Thank you for listening. I love the option to save screenshots into Dropbox. Unfortunately if you enable it, you have to choose between: copy link copy image within the "When screenshot is ready" dropdown. On too many occasions this has overwritten something I had only recently copied to the clipboard. When I go to paste it, I instead find that it's been replaced by the link to the image, or the image itself. I still want to save my screenshots into Dropbox, but I'd love a 3rd option within "When screenshot is ready" dropdown: Don't copy anything to clipboard I'd imagine this is very simple to implement, so thought I'd ask :)112Views0likes3CommentsComment without Login
I'm sharing photos and videos, as well as production documents with clients and love to get their feedback on the specific file. However, many companies prohibit employees from generating their own Dropbox account, which is needed to comment on the files. How about just having to "sign up" with their Name and Email in order to get notifications? Would love to have an easier way to share files with clients and get their feedback as simple as possible.95Views1like1CommentPersistent Indicator for Files with Unresolved Comments
Currently, Dropbox shows a comment notification only when a comment is new or unread. Once the comment is read, the indicator disappears even if the comment is not resolved. This makes it hard to see which files still require attention. I would like Dropbox to introduce a persistent visual indicator (badge, icon, number, highlight, or any small marker) that appears whenever a file has unresolved comments, regardless of whether they have been read already. Why this matters: Teams use comments for review and approvals. After reading a comment, there is no quick way to see that the file still needs action. Users must open each file and check the comments panel to find unresolved comments. This leads to missed feedback and slower collaboration. How it could work: Show a small badge next to the file name in the file list when unresolved comments exist. In the file preview, show a subtle “unresolved comments” indicator even if all comments are read. User impact: This would help teams working with shared documents by making outstanding work visible at a glance, reducing mistakes and speeding up reviews.69Views1like1Comment
