This is the most important request ever! And it should be already implemented. Is to open dropbox links directly in explorer (windows) or in finder (mac), independent where the link is, whatsapp, slack, messenger, skype, any of then. Is a link, when i click today,. it always open the browser (Edge on Win and Safari on Mac), but should have an option, or in my point of view, the defult should be open in explorer/win and finder/mac. That is the way it should be. You can ask any computer user, and i know a lot ask for this and post helps about it. So, why still isn't like that? And most important, can you please do it fast? All community will give you a lot of love and more subscriptions back. Thank you!4.3KViews7likes2CommentsCan Dropbox sync on a Network Share?
Hi. Just curious into asking about syncing a Dropbox agent to a Windows network share to allow other people to access and modify files. The idea was to have an agent sat on a Windows File Server, sync the Dropbox agent to a specific folder and make it a network share for other people to use files within. I am aware this is unsupported by Dropbox, but is this against TOS in any way and something that most certainly shouldn't be done? Or is there a better way that this can be done? Many Thanks!Solved3KViews0likes6CommentsDropbox deleted files from a shared link
Hello everybody! I had a bunch of photos and videos on this account (aprox. 200). The photos were probably about 3-4 years old, and i would occasionally access them. Today when i wanted to see them again, the photos were gone. The only things left on my account are the pdfs, word files and archives. I still have some links of some of the photos, form a conversation where i shared them, but when i try to access them, i get the message that the file was deleted. -the files are not in the deleted files folder -i have no other account, where i could've saved the files -i am 100% sure i didn't accidentally deleted them -no other person has access to my account -i am not logged in on the mobile app Any ideas on how my files were deleted, or any suggestion on how to recover them would be appreciated. Hi People, Drop box Business user. We have 3 folders at the highest level.. Folder 1 Folder 2 Team folder We have different permissions for access to Folder 1 & Folder 2 depending on staff's requirements. Some staff can only access Folder 2, but all can access Folder 1. Team Folder is not used (could be the solution, see below) We now have the need to lock certain folders within Folder 1 and Folder 2 to just 1 or 2 users e.g Folder 1>Financials Folder 2>Financials My impression is this cant be done using our structure unless we move these folders to their own folder 'Folder 3' and set permissions for that. A bit of googling makes me beleive this may be possible in the 'Team Folder' as these have extra features.. If so how do I do it? and can I move Folder 1 and Folder 2 inside of 'Team Folder' with ease or is it a PITA? ThanksSolved26KViews0likes11CommentsWhen 2 people edit a Word document at the same time in Dropbox, I get a permission message.
I work with one other person. We were both working on our laptops on the same file in our shared Dropbox folder. (I was adding to a working list and she was editing above.) But I kept getting an odd request for permission and the file name changed to a long sequence of numbers and letters and was saved in another folder called "old files." So the attempt to work on the same file at the same time failed. How can we make this work?Solved13KViews0likes7CommentsIs it possible to allow someone to view a shared file but not download it?
Hi there, I am looking to upload some videos for people to "view" but not download. Is there a way to set this up this way? Once they have paid for their video, I would then like to give them access to download it. Let me know if this is possible. Thank you.Solved9.4KViews0likes9Comments
