Dropbox Deleted Files from a shared link
Hello everybody!
I had a bunch of photos and videos on this account (aprox. 200). The photos were probably about 3-4 years old, and i would occasionally access them. Today when i wanted to see them again, the photos were gone. The only things left on my account are the pdfs, word files and archives. I still have some links of some of the photos, form a conversation where i shared them, but when i try to access them, i get the message that the file was deleted.
-the files are not in the deleted files folder
-i have no other account, where i could've saved the files
-i am 100% sure i didn't accidentally deleted them
-no other person has access to my account
-i am not logged in on the mobile app
Any ideas on how my files were deleted, or any suggestion on how to recover them would be appreciated. Thanks!
- If the files aren't visible on the account, and not in the events page or deleted files item, then it wouldn't be possible to recover them at this point since the recover period of 30 days would have expired.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Dropbox doesn't delete your files like that. If your account was idle for more than a year, the entire account would be deleted due to inactivity, but it wouldn't delete just a subset of files within the account.
You can use the Events page to see what happened to your files. If they were deleted within the last 30 days, you can recover the files.

Unfortunately on the events page i get the message :"You have no activity yet". The deleted files folder is empty aswell.
I actually have some links that i have shared with some friends:

On all of the links i get the message, This item was deleted. I am 100% sure that i have not deleted my files, and i would never have a reason to do it.
The fact that they just disappeared is a bit frustrating.

Hi SpacBogdan97, were these files located in a shared folder that another user could have access to?
When was the last time you access the shared link, was it over 30 days? - SpacBogdan975 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Hello Jay!
The photos were located on my dropbox. I have only used the share with a link option for some photos. The photos were shared on 05/08/2020, but the last time i have accesed them was about 5 months ago.
