I was sent an email (it appeared to be from a trusted sender) directing me to dropbox to open a file. I clicked on it which sent the file to dropbox, but I did not open the file within dropbox. Only then did I learn that the email was a phishing scam. But now I can't delete the file from my dropbox. The three dots only give me two options: "open" and "copy link." How can I remove this file from my dropbox?? Thanks for any help, JenniferSolved88Views0likes5CommentsOne of my shared folders disappeared after sharing it with another user.
I have just tried to share a folder with dropbox to another account and the folder has simply disappeared. It doesn't show in the online directory. It doesn't come up when I look for deleted files either, so I assume it is still there somewhere. This is an important folder and I'd like to get it back. Unfortunately I don't have a local copy so that isn't an option. Any ideas?Solved3.6KViews0likes14CommentsIf I rewind a folder, will a removed member regain access?
A user who should have not had access to a folder any more went in and deleted a bunch of files/folders within a core folder in my Dropbox. I am planning to use Rewind to restore folders so I can properly backup the data. I have already removed access to the root folder for the user who should no longer have had access. If I initiate a rewind of the folder, will the user gain access to the restored/rewinded files? It should not matter - as I will promptly remove access again - but I just want to plan accordingly and act rapidly if I need to. And to be clear - I know that if I do a "Restore" instead of a Rewind, that the person WILL be given access again. But it is my understanding that Rewind operates differently. Thank you!50Views0likes3CommentsShared folder empty on devices and online
There is a folder that our band members use to sync songs, images, lyrics, etc. It recently turned up completely empty for all of us, on our devices and on dropbox.com. None of us remembers having done anything, let alone having deleted everything. What can we do to get our files back? Best regards, Alex106Views0likes17CommentsHow to move multiple files at once to a shared folder?
I want to share a bunch of photos with family. I created a shared folder and sent them the link to view. I can select multiple photos and videos at once... but I can't figure out how to move them all into the shared folder at the same time. Am I missing something? Am I really supposed to click photos one by one to move them??316Views0likes3CommentsFolder does not exist after sharing
Hi everyone, I tried to share a large folder (about 10T), and it took very long to finish. While the sharing was ongoing, I deleted some files in it, and when I tried to access the folder again on the Dropbox website, it said the folder didn't exist. The folder is still on my computer and I am pretty sure that I didn't delete it entirely. I checked the deleted folder on the Dropbox website and it's not there. The files deleted inside that folder were also not shown on the event page. What can I do to restore the folder?209Views0likes1Comment
